Age: 14
"Desi!" Luke shouted from the living room.
"What do you want, Luke?!" I shouted back to him.
"Can you please help me with this?! I've been working on it for over half an hour!"
"Let me finish making our drinks first!"
I poured the jug of lemonade into two small glass cups and added three cubes of ice into it. Why yes, it was another hot day in England so Luke forced me to make lemonade since he 'sucks at making them'.
I put two thin slices of lemon on the rim of the cup and put the jug in the fridge so that Mum would have something to drink for later.
I brought the two glasses into the living and sat down next to Luke who had his guitar tucked under his arm.
Luke had mastered a few guitar skills over the pass couple of years, thanks to his lessons that he's been going too.
"Okay. What name do you think is good?" He asked, picking up his glass of lemonade as he showed me the paper he was scribbiling on.
Apparently, Luke was writing down names for his band because he wanted to accomplish this dream to take over the world.
I skimmed the many different band names on the paper and came upon one name that was out of order. "Banana Smoothie?"
He slurped his cold beverage and set the glass down, "What? It's better than nothing."
"Five point two seconds of summer?" I chuckled.
"I don't even know about that." Luke shrugged, playing a few tunes on his guitar.
"Five hundred years of winter- okay, mate, what is up with all of these names? It's like you asked your maths teacher to help you come up with these." I nudged him in the side.
"Well then what do you want my band to be called? No Name?" Luke cleared his throat and put a fist up to his mouth, "Introducing the most hottest band in the world, No Name!"
"Shut up. Your band is never going to be successful with a name like that." I laughed.
"At least I'm coming up with names!" Luke groans.
I set the paper down on the coffee table and picked up my lemonade that was almost taking in the heat because of the many water droplets sliding down the glass. "Maybe it's a little too early for you to be in a band."
"What do you mean?" Luke asked, turning his body towards me.
"You should start off as a YouTuber or go to those small restaurants and do a mini gig." I suggest.
"You sure about that?" Luke squinted his eyes.
"Yes! I'm sure! Then you could try and spread your name all over Facebook and Twitter." I smile.
"Okay then. I'll make a YouTube channel starting tomorrow. But first, I need a username." Luke blinked.
"Oh great... Here we go again." I laugh, picking up a pen and the paper and start jotting down random users for him.

The sun was about to set and Luke and I were sitting on my porch, watching the beautiful scenery.
The sky was a pretty shade of orange and pink and the colour was reflecting off onto the clouds too.
"Desi?" Luke asked softly.
I sighed, "Yes Luke?"
"I'm scared." He says.
I turned my body to face him, losing interest in the sunset right away.
"Scared for what Luke?" I ask.
"What if my YouTube channel won't be a success?" He asks.
"Luke-." I was cut off.
"What if no one won't like me?" He questions.
"I-." I was cut off once again.
"What if it won't happen? What I won't be successful? What if..." He paused to breathe out and in. I could see a tear slip down his cheek, "What if I won't make it?"
That's when I lost it. Luke is having doubts right before he even made a channel.
"Luke," I squeaked.
"That's what I'm afraid of, Desi... I'm afraid that I won't make it." He sniffed.
"Luke stop. Don't say that. You haven't even started anything yet and you're having doubts? Try before you succeed. And if you don't succeed, try and try again. As Henry Ford says, 'failure is the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.' So keep your hopes held high and you'll make it Luke. Trust me... I know you will." I pulled him into a hug and rub my hand gently on his back.
We stayed in that position for a few seconds and he pulled away, cracking a small smile. "Thanks Desi. I really needed that."
"Hey," I shrug, "That's why I'm here. I'm always here by your side."
He wiped his tears away with his shirt. "I'm glad you're my friend. I'm glad that we met. I don't know what I could've done without you." Luke paused for a seconds to pull me in for another hug, which was most differently than the others we've shared.
"Thank you, for everything."
