"What should we do, Luke?" I asked while tracing the form of the cloud with my finger.
"I don't know." Luke replies.
Luke and I are both laying down on the grass in my front yard because basically we got kicked out of my house for making a huge mess in the living room. Don't ask me what happened because it was all Luke's fault.
"I'm so bored." Luke whined.
"Same." I sighed.
I really hate it when there's silence between the two of us. It makes everything so awkward when it's not supposed to be since we're very comfortable with each other.
I rolled over on the grass and faced Luke. "Luke..." I say while poking him in the side.
He flinched back and smiled, "Don't poke me!"
He reached out his hands and started tickling me. "Rawr! I'm the tickle monster!"
"Luke! Stop!" I giggled, trying to move his hands away from me. I rolled over on the opposite side and stumbled up, nearly falling back down on my face. My wrist was being pulled back and I spun around being face to face with Luke.
"Woah..." We both say at the same time.
I took a step back and grinned, "Hey! We should play a game of tag!"
"That's what I was thinking!" Luke nodded.
"Okay! Who's it?" I asked.
"Not me!" Luke says quickly.
"Aw, I don't want to be it!" I whine.
"Well too bad." He stuck out his tongue.
"Let's do rock, paper, scissors then!"
"Yeah, that seems fair."
We stuck out our left palm and put our right hand into a fist. "Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!"
Sadly, I had rock and Luke had paper.
"No!"
"Yes!"
"Okay, you got five seconds to run. Five..." I start counting down, but Luke doesn't move.
"Four..." He stays in the same spot, smiling like a big idiot.
"Three..." I count, taking a step closer to him.
"Two... Why aren't you moving?" I ask.
"One!" By then Luke takes off and starts running to the other side of the yard in half a second.
"Oh! Yeah! Okay cool! Run to the other side of the lawn in zero point zero zero one two three seconds!" I threw my hands in the air.
"What did you just say?!" Luke asks from the other side.
I shook my head, "Nothing! I'm going to get you!"
We start chasing each other around the house, the yard, the garden, even on the sidewalk and the road. No, I haven't tagged Luke yet. He's quite the runner I might add.
I was catching my breath while Luke was standing there acting like he isn't tired at all.
"Aren't you tired?!" I call out to him.
"Nope!" He calls back.
"What?! How?!" I ask in shock.
"I don't get tired." He shrugs. Luke turns around quickly as if someone called him. This is my time.
I sprinted towards him and yelled out his name. Luke quickly turned to face me but before he could run away and I would give up already, I ended up tackling him onto the grass and falling onto of him.
"HA! IN YOUR FACE! I finally caught you!" I yelled while pumping my fist in the air.
"Hooray for Desi!" Luke laughed.
I looked down at him, "What? I have never tagged you before."
"I know." He grinned, but it faded seconds later. "Now get off of me! You're so heavy!"
Luke pushed me off of him and stood up, brushing the grass off of his shirt. "I'm not heavy!"
He sticks out his hand for me to hold on to and he pulls me up. "Yes you are."
"Why don't we go in for ice cream?" I sigh, changing the subject.
"Yeah. That's better than arguing about how heavy you are." Luke smiles.
"Can you please stop talking about that?" I groan.
"Okay, okay. Heavy girl." He laughed.
