(I suggest you listen to Everything Has Changed by Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran while reading this even though you don't like her.)

Desi; Age - 18
Drew; Age - 6
Eleven months.
Eleven months since my best friend, Luke, left to pursue his dream; left to be known all around; left to be successful; left to take over the world with his band.
Eleven months since our first kiss.
Eleven months since his presence.
Eleven months.
I've got to say that during that time, life has been really good. There were a few little problems but it's no big deal.
I've been doing fun things with my brother; the same things Luke and I used to do when we were children. I'm being that fun, older sibling my brother could ever have.
I've also found out that the waitress at Nandos, Emma, was my best friend that moved to Hawaii when I was five. Whenever Mum, Drew, and I went there to eat, Emma would always sit with me in another booth and we'd tell each other things no one knew. In just one week, we caught up on a lot of things.
I'm sitting on the lounge with a guitar in my hand playing Luke's signature tune on the guitar; the guitar in which he used to play This Is Me for our mini concert when we were twelve.
"Drew, what are you looking at?" I ask my brother who had been staring out the window for the past five minutes.
"There's a really big truck outside!" Drew exclaims.
I stopped playing and set the guitar down slowly on the coffee table, then peered out the window right next to him.
Drew was right. There was a really big truck outside; a moving truck I might add.
It was in front of the house on the right side of us and the workers were carrying boxes in and out of the truck.
"Mum!" Drew called, looking back.
"Yes Drew?" I hear mum call back from the kitchen.
"Who's moving in to the house right next to us?!" Drew asks.
"I don't know, honey! Why won't you go outside with Desi and check? I'm really busy at the moment!" Mum responds.
"Okay!" Drew turns to me. "Come on, Desi! Let's go see!"
He gets off the couch and runs upstairs and I take off after him, going into my own room. I change into a pair of black shorts and a Nirvana tee that Luke sent me when he was in Los Angeles.
Yeah, we sent each other mini gifts while he was gone.
Drew rushes past my room and I hear loud footsteps descend the staircase, "Desi! Let's go!"
"Hold your horses, Drew!" I called out to him.
Memories flood through my mind the day Luke moved in to the house across from me. I was so excited to meet him that day and now I'm even more excited to see him come home next month.
"DESI!" Drew shouts.
"I'M COMING!" I shouted back to him. I grab my phone and hop down the stairs, putting my hair up in a messy bun. But before I could do that, Drew grabs my hand and drags me out the door, not bothering to close the door.
A simple white car pulls up in the driveway of the house and Drew and I stand in the middle of the sidewalk to watch.
The back door of the car swings open and a little girl wearing a blue dress with white sandals hopped out, holding her Hello Kitty doll. Her outfit remind me so much of mine when I went out to visit Luke for the first time.
