Braelin's POV
Layla and I were at my house picking out my outfit for the game and I couldn't decide what colors to wear. What were the team colors again? Cameron hadn't got the chance to tell me and now I wasn't sure what to wear.
"What do you think the colors are?" I asked Layla and she shrugged.
"I don't go to your school, ask someone who does," grabbing my phone I sent a text to Cameron.
Hey, blue eyes, what is our team color?
He responded back instantly.
Blue and black-Cameron.
I frowned slightly since he had forgotten to give me his usual random nickname but shrugged it off. He was stressed,
"Alright, we need to wear blue and black," I told Layla and she nodded dropping her phone on the bed with a sigh. "What's wrong?"
"Dylan is perfect for me. He's hilarious, fine and have you seen that body of his," she said taking a deep breath. "He is blessed."
"Then what's the problem?"
"What if I'm just a phase to him? I really like him Braelin but I swear to god if he's playing me I will hurt him."
"And I'll help," I said causing her to laugh. "But you have nothing to worry about girl, Dylan really likes you. I have never seen him turn down so many girls in my life."
"Really?"
"Yup."
"Well then we need to hurry up and get ready so I can go see my man." Shaking my head I pulled out a pair of black tights and a light blue top and quickly changed into them. Slipping into my white air forces, I let my hair down and reapplied my lip gloss.
"Ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be," Layla said grabbing her purse. "Let's go."

By the time we got there, the game had yet to start but I noticed Cameron as soon as we walked onto the field. He was in a huddle with his other teammates, discussing the game plan but his attention was else were. He was looking around for something and when our eyes met, he smiled brightly before frowning once he noticed what I was wearing. oh hell! Was I not supposed to wear a T-shirt? He said something to his coach before he and Dylan jogged over to where we were standing.
"Hey is everything okay?" I asked.
"You're wearing the wrong colors," Cameron said.
"No were not," Layla said.
"Yeah, babe you are. Our colors are red and black and the other team is blue and black," he said motioning to his uniform which was, in fact, red and black. "Normally it's not a big deal but it's bad luck on the first game."
"But I texted you and asked what the colors were and you told me blue and black," I said causing Cameron to frown.
"I don't have my phone on me."
"Hey man, thanks for letting me use your phone," chad said coming up to us before he started laughing. "I can't believe you really wore black and blue."
"You told me to!" I yelled angrily and he put his hands up in defense.
"I didn't think you would actually do it. Man, you black girls are," he started before seeing the glare in Layla's eye.
"We're what?"
"Nevermind, look it's not a big deal just go home and change."
"I live a half hour away, by the time we got back the game would be done," I reminded him and he shrugged.
"Not my problem."
"Chad can you leave?" Dylan said holding back Layla.
"What? You can't control your animal-- I mean girlfriend," he asked smirking and Dylan's eyes lowered into a glare.
"You have three fucking seconds to leave before I hurt you."
"Alright, I'm gone," he put his hands up before turning and walking away.
"Alright, we need to figure something out and quick before the game starts and people realize you're wearing the wrong colors."
"Look we can leave," Layla started and I nodded agreeing.
"Yeah, you guys should be focused on the game anyways."
"Didn't I tell you-you were my good luck charm?" Cameron said and I nodded. "Then I'm going to figure this out."
"Our varsity jackets!" Dylan yelled and Cameron nodded agreeing.
"That's perfect! You guys can wear that and no one will even care. Dylan go grab them."
"What! No!" An annoying voice screeched loudly before Stacey came into view. "You can't let her wear your jacket."
"And why not?"
"Because you never let me wear it! You said it was your good luck charm."
"Which is exactly why my good luck charm is going to wear it. Can't get any more lucky than that," he said shooting me a wink and I rolled my eyes.
"Got them," Dylan said before handing us the jackets and we quickly slipped them on.
"This is not fair!" Stacey whined and Layla rolled her eyes.
"So how do we look?"
"You look amazing," Cameron said pulling me into a hug.
"Damn baby you look good in my clothes," Dylan said and Layla busted out into laughter.
"We should go to our seats," I told him.
"I kind of like having you in my arms instead," he said causing me to smile.
"You can't play with me in your arms."
"I can try," he said before finally releasing me. "Don't sit too far, I want to be able to see you when I make my touchdown."
"You mean if?"
"We'll see," he said giving me one final wink before he and Dylan headed back to the huddle.
"How did we get so lucky?" I asked Layla, not taking my eyes off Cameron.
"I don't know but I'm going to church to thank god for this blessing," she said and I couldn't help but laugh before we made our way to our seats. In the third row, there were a few seats open and Layla and I sat down but before we could get comfortable, someone tapped my shoulder.
"Yeah?" I asked coming face to face with a brunette and two of her friends.
"You can't sit here."
"Why not?"
"Well, your a black girl you can't sit with us."
"Well damn should we go sit at the back of the bus?" Layla asked sarcastically and the girls cleared their throats to say something else but I interrupted.
"Actually we will sit somewhere else, your ignorance is taking up all the space anyways," standing up we looked for another place to sit when we noticed Selena waving us over a few aisle over. We walked over to where she was sitting and took a seat before focusing on the game. Within the first 5 minutes, our team had scored a point and Cameron looked up and the stands a blew me a kiss and as corny as it was, I pretended to catch it. Oh hell, I was really falling for him...
