Yuuri let out a long and exaggerated sigh.

He hated royal parties.

They were always too long, too classy, and his clothes always felt like they were suffocating him.

So, yeah, loathing would be the perfect word to describe how Yuuri felt about the royal ball his mother was throwing that night.

(tHIS MAKES ME SO EMOTIONAL I WAS JUST TRYING TO FIND YUURI'S COSTUME FOR IT BUT NOW I FEEL ATTACKED. i'm not okay rn. Also clothes really aren't my thing so sorry if I describe them weirdly/wrong)

Yuuri took a deep breath and straightened out the brightly colored jacket. He looked pretty okay, and more like an actual prince for once, but still at the same time, something felt missing.

He sighed ran his fingers through his hair.

He never really was great with his appearance. And definitely not with his styling his hair. He normally just let it do whatever it wanted.

There was a knock on the door "You haven't escaped out the window yet, have you?"

"Oops, sorry I'm long gone, I'll bring you back a souvenir from France."

Victor slipped into the room with an amused smile playing on his lips, turning and shutting the door behind him "Of course."

Yuuri grinned, silently checking his friend and guard out while he wasn't looking. He wore a plain old black suit like a rich man would wear but Victor made it look hot. Yuuri was sure he made anything look hot though.

"You look really good. Can you always wear that suit?"

"Thanks, and hell no, this thing is tight and uncomfortable"  When he turned back around and saw Yuuri, it was almost like he had seen a ghost or something instead "Woah"

Yuuri's smile faltered slightly "What?"

"You just look... damn.." he looking like he was at a loss for words.

The prince raised an eyebrow, not convinced "Uhuh."

Victor rolled his eyes, gently grabbing his shoulders and turning him towards the floor length mere he'd been looking at before, pointing at his double "Do you know what that is?"

Yuuri raised an eyebrow "A disgrace?"

"The definition of everything good in the universe."

The ravenette met the taller boy's gaze in the mirror "You must be using a faulty dictionary then."

With that he turned away from the mirror and walked over to his bed, flopping down face first onto it with an exasperated groan.

He felt the bed dip as his handsome guard sat beside him. On his bed. Yuuri felt his face heat up slightly and buried it deeper into his covers in hopes of hiding it.

They sat there for a moment and gradually the heat left Yuuri's face, much to his pleasure.

"Would it make you happy if I did something with your hair?"

This piqued Yuuri's curiosity as he sat up.

"Only if you want.."

He didn't want to sound to excited. In truth, he kind of wished it were his fingers in Victor's hair and not the other way around but this would have to do for the time being. He didn't mean it in a weird way or anything, it's just, Victor's hair was all cool and silvery and it looked hella soft, which made it really hard for him to resist the temptation to run his fingers through it every. five. seconds.

Victor gave him a giddy smile "Of course."

He walked over and snatched a ruby colored comb off of his dresser

He gently nudged Yuuri until he sat in the middle of the bed and Victor sat crisscross behind him.

After a few moments, Victor spoke up with a soft laugh "I feel like a little girl at a sleepover."

"I hope that's a good thing."

"I think so. Soon we'll be gossiping about boys and trading clothes."

Yuuri giggled slightly "One, I'm pretty sure your clothes would be way too big for me because you're a literal giant, and two, no boys, I'm still getting over my last boyfriend."

"Yeah, Phichit mentioned something like that."

"Really?"

"Not exactly. He just said to avoid the topic, saying it was a touchy subject."

"I mean it kind of is, but it's been like a year so I'm over it now. For the most part." He replied, looked down at his hands, tangling and untangling his fingers in his covers.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Did he want to talk about it?

Was it really worth sharing? He wasn't exactly counting on Victor staying with him as his guard too much longer but at the same time it didn't really look like he was leaving. He did see him steal a pig and, remarkably, was still here, but for how much longer?

It didn't really matter though, it'd still be nice to talk to someone about it.

"Yeah, I guess so." He shifted slightly to sit cross cross like Victor was "Well, there was this boy, Rebel, that use to always visit the castle with his father."

"At first I thought he was just hella annoying because he would never leave me alone, but eventually I grew fond of him." Yuuri's gaze was drawn over or the clock "I'm going to speed this up a little because my mother will kill me if I'm late."

Victor laughed.

"After a while he proposed to me and I accepted, but a few months later I found out he was only here with his father for the money aspect of things."

Victor patted his shoulder gently, and Yuuri turned around to find him frowning at him "I'm sorry, Yuuri. He sounds like a jerk."

"Yeah... that's why I threw his expensive little ring into the pond outside and told him there were alligators in it."

"Were there?"

"Nope!" He hopped off the bed and walked over to the mirror.

A wide smile immediately found his face as he looked over his shoulder at Victor, who walked up behind him "I like it!"

The taller boy grinned back "Good."

His eyes flickered over to the clock on his wall, and he realized he really had to go.

"C'mon, before my mother kills both of us."
