Chapter XXX

Deven's Pov-

I quickly looked up from Riley's whimpering form to Skylar, to see her clutching her chest as a sob broke free from her throat.

"Alex.." I wiggled my finger across Riley's stomach directing her attention from Skylar to her tiny belly, as I watched my future Alpha slid down the wall and covered her face.

"Skylar. What about Alex?! What happened?!" I asked quickly as I pondered if I should leave Riley's side.

"She's dead." Skylar mumbled repeatedly as her shoulders shook violently in time with her quiet sobs.

I stared at Skylar's sobbing form in disbelief. Alex can't be dead. She can't...

' Deven..'

'No,Tomahawk! Alex can't be dead.' I tightened my jaw, to the point of pain, as I begged the gods for this to not be true.

"Sky." My tear-filled eyes moved from Skylar's form to Riley's to see the baby dragon reaching for the older blonde.

"Sky!" My eyes widened as I saw Riley's mouth move, a word coming out instead of her regular squeals. Skylar's eyes also turned to the baby watching as Riley turned on her side, facing Skylar as she continued to reach for the Alpha.

Skylar sniffled as she lifted herself up and began to walk towards Riley's crib.

Camlock's Pov-

I roared as Gaea jumped away from my grasp once more. I stilled my body as Gaea back-flipped into the air, her body now her wolf's as she arched her back.

'Enough of this Camlock.' I snarled as I pawed at my head, my rage growing at the voice I assumed was Gaea's wolf.

'Jaylik is my name.' I stood on all fours, tense, as Jaylik sat down in front of her throne, her sky blue eyes stared into my orange ones with no emotion.

'I don't give a fuck, what you're name is! I want Alex back alive!' I quickly blocked Jaylik's view when her gaze tried to move to my human.

'Alex is dead, Camlock. She knew the consequences when she took back control.' My fangs showed as I growled lowly, my body crouching, ready to leap at the bitch.

'Say one more thing about Alex. I fucking dare you.' Jaylik's eyes rolled at my words before she stood on all fours and padded down the three little steps and towards me.

'I can feel you getting weak, Camlock. You will not last for much longer.'

'I'd rather die, then join the two of you.' Jaylik narrowed her eyes at me, and then she suddenly disappeared. A yelp left my muzzle when a sudden weight landed on my back, and sharp fangs nipped at my neck.

'That is not an option!' I jerked my body wildly, when I realized that Jaylik had pounced onto my back. The older wolf's fangs bit harder into my neck as her claws sank into my sides making me yowl in agony, as I fell to my knees.

'Get off her!'

My body finally collapsed to the ground when Jaylik's weight was removed from my back. My spirit morphed back into it's wolf form as I turned my head to see Kitsuni and Chalion cornering the Blue-eyed wolf. Their snarls echoed in the large room.

My gaze went from my friends to my human. I lifted myself back up onto weak legs and slowly walked towards her, stumbling as my eye- lids began to droop.

'Alex..' I laid my head down atop of her stomach, as my body curled into her side once more.

"Camlock.." My eyes slowly moved from the wall to see Lua walking towards Alex and me. I didn't even have enough strength to growl at the older blonde. A soft huff left me instead of a growl when Lua kneeled next to us.

" I might be able to help you." My eyes narrowed at the witch.

'How?' Lua sighed softly before her palms glowed a soft purple.

"I can bring Alex back."
