Becoming Friends - Clark Kent

A/N: I'm sorry it took so long I haven't been able to write as much with school work and my art exam that is coming up soon.

Night had fallen and you were still stuck in your office. Multiple empty cups of coffee littered the floor around you as you furiously typed away at your computer. Perry wanted the report finished by tomorrow so it could be printed onto the newspapers straight away. Another battle rack the streets of Metropolis just yesterday, Bizarro and Superman were at it again and amidst the fighting; six buildings were destroyed, one hundred and forty four people were injured and seventy six people were killed.

Sorrow and sadness filled your body as you wrote, it seems no matter where you are there will always be death and pain in the every city that you live in.

"Hey (Y/N)."

You jumped at the sound of someone's voice behind you and quickly looked. It was Clark. You let out a sigh of relief and smiled.

"Damn it Clark. You scared me." Clark let out a small laugh before sitting down at your desk next to you.

"So what are you working on? You seem sad." He said as he tried to look at your computer screen.

You looked toward your report and let out another sigh as you were reminded of the topic. The people that were lost was devastating. You knew that Superman was only trying to help the people of Metropolis but whenever there is a fight, you know destruction and suffering will soon follow after. You look at Clark with a sad smile.

"Perry wants this report finished by tomorrow and it is a little depressing. I don't think I'll get it finished in time personally."

Strong arms wrapped around you and bought you into a tight hug. First you were surprised Clark always seemed so timid and to be hugged by him seemed special somehow. You wrapped your own arms around him and he hugged you closer to him. Clark pulled back with a smile and said,

"I'll help you (Y/N). Even if it takes all night."

So you both sat there side by side in the office writing out the report with Clark kept telling really bad jokes just to keep that smile on your face.
