you didnt notice me when i was stardust

i ran through your fingertips, leaving makeup on your shirts,

catching chagrined thoughts on the tip of my tongue,

eating bitter and tasting sweet

you formed me into a comet;

i set your roof on fire, i collapsed timbers on your bed

my lips locked around your secrets

and i shouted to black holes that grew

in the time and space between us

you watched me when i ignited

becoming something ephemeral

an entity you needed a dictionary to define

like my vocabulary you claimed was too wide

i burned too brightly for hurt feelings but oh,

a shout in the void isn't so tidy as this,

the sweeping of lose ends

i could hurt you if i had half a mind to

but vengeance is only sweet when its forthcoming

so here it is:

i became a supernova

and you died to watch me burn
