i am a woman. i have veins of ice and a heart of fire. when i speak, my voice shakes mountains and breaks barriers an ocean away. when i walk, the earth pulses in time with my heartbeat and my footfalls waken sleeping giants and lull my enemy to sleep. when i smile, sunlight catches in my teeth. when i breathe, the wind snaps and carries my oxygen away.

i am a woman. i have hands as small as the world and fingerprints as deep as the Grand Canyon. when i speak, no one hears me -- my only audience are the four walls of my bedroom. when i walk, my steps are slight. when i smile, shadows creep around the corners. when i breathe, i count my breaths as a blessing, my sighs as a gift from my own lungs.

i am fearless; i am fearful. i am graceful; i am graceless. i am strong; i am overpowered. i am your worst nightmare; i am your greatest friend.

i am a woman.
