broken bits of stars

fall to meet their mark

find their way into your smile

but never raise the dark

errant wisps of moonbeams

caress your sunburned skin;

they only reflect the light

you try to hold within

shooting stars burn out

and i soon will do the same

give me a constellation

tell it to remember my name
