Patience is virtue; It means to wait. There is a saying 'Good things come to those who wait', but waiting is not easy. It takes more than time, it takes our willingness, self-control and ability. Being patient means we let go of many things, but in the end, patience does pay off, our time comes, our wait is over. Time and patience are like partners in crime when we say' time heals everything' we have to be patient enough to let time do its work.
It is been eight years, that I have asked myself to be patient and let the truth come out with time but now I have realized that being patient is not enough you have to work your way out of things. Now I think my patience is getting over, it's been a freaking whole week I have been calling Edward, texting him, leaving audio messages but no use he is not replying it looks as if he is disappeared in thin air.
Many times I tried to go to his house but then I felt it is not right. I have been reading the case file all these days trying to find loopholes in it but then according to the case file, it's a clear cut case(open and shut case). The three of us have also done some sightseeing, I tried to refresh my mind, I tried to think maybe there is some hidden link in my own memories but no use everything comes back to where it started. Maybe this will be the last time I will call Edward or I will not call him.
This whole week I have been thinking about why Edward is not picking up my call is something wrong with him or he doesn't want to help me then why did he agree to help me in the first place? I know he gave me a reason but then the reason he gave me is sort of weird. Does he have some connection with my Mom or is he just helping me out of humanity? But why will he just help me like this, there are many more people around in Melbourne whom he can help, why me?
"Merliah!" Grandma shouts at me and pulls me off my thought
"Yes, Grandma," I say as I realize that she standing at my doorway
"Where have you been? I am calling you for such a long time" she asks
"I was just..." What excuse should I make? I cannot really tell her what I am thinking about, I look at her face she is waiting for me to speak up.
"Oh! Forget it" she says
Thank God I am saved!
"Someone came to meet" she informs
I give her a confusing look "Who?" I ask
"I don't know, he is saying that you know him," she replies
Who could it be? Is it Edward? Why will he come to meet me? I called him so many times but he did not reply to one call so why is he here? God Knows! I come out room and follow Grandma downstairs. I see a figure, his back his facing towards me, that person is pretty much looking like Edward from behind. Oh, God! Can I stop thinking about him? But the question is if he is not Edward then who is he?
"Yes?" I ask and the person turns towards me
I see Edward facing towards me, as soon as I see him I don't know why a sudden burst of anger is filling me inside.
"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?" I shout at him
"Merliah, I can explain," he says
"DO HELL WITH YOUR EXPLANATION!" I shout at him "I have called you almost a million times, send you texts, messages. A freaking whole week! Do you get that Edward" I don't shout at him but then there is anger filled in my voice
I can see Jack and Lisa standing.
"Dear is he your...." Grandma is cut off by me
"No Grandma!" I say firmly
"Okay," she replies meekly
"Did your Grandmother just think that we are dating?" Edward asks with an amused look on his face
"I hope so your ears are fine and you can hear properly," I say with sarcasm in my voice
"Oh! no, she and me, Never!" Edward says looking at Grandma
"I don't care what do you think Edward Grayson, tell why are you here?" I say
"I have something for you," he says as he shows me a file, that I didn't notice he had.
I can make this out it is something related to Mom, I look at Grandma she looks at us in confusion. This is not a good place to discuss this thing
"Come to my room," I say to Edward and gesture Lisa and Jack to come up too
As soon as we arrive in my room I lock the door.
"About the calls and messages I didn't reply because my phone was not with me, the very next day we come from the cafe it fell and I got it a week later then I saw all your messages and phone call" Edward explains himself
I nod, "What do you have?" I ask regarding the file
"First tell me did you find anything new in the past week," Edward asks
"No, I did try to find loopholes but then the case file clearly states it was a suicide," I say
"But I did find something new, I got the report from the forensic lab," he says as he takes out a paper from the file
"How did you do that?" I question
"I have got my sources," he answers
"The box we found only has fingerprints of your mother and your father no one other than that, about the blood marks it's is AB+ and of whom I couldn't figure that out and about the ring I didn't give it because this ring surely belongs to someone close to your mother and we have to find that woman and that too she is Mrs Roger friend " Edward explains everything
"Everything is still a puzzle nothing is solved," I say
"We can do it together Merliah," Lisa encourages me
I simply nod, I can't think of anything which can even give me one hint about something.
"Before you all come to any kind of conclusion. I came across this case that my Dad is handling and I happen to notice that one of the prime suspects is Finn Hazer and the crime took place just two weeks back" informs Edward
"What? This means Finn Hazer is in Melbourne?" I question
"Not Exactly. I really don't know the details because I could only get some information in such a short amount of time. Apparently, he travels a lot, it looks like his job requires him to do that, from what I could gather he travelled to New Zealand three weeks back and was in Melbourne and he left again for somewhere,"
"Three weeks back even we left New Zealand for Melbourne, is something fishy with his travel timeline is it just me," says Lisa
"He may or may not be following us but we don't know for sure," answers Edward
Who exactly is this person? I don't know him, did he know Mom? But as far as I remember I saw him for the first time, the day he came home.
Things aren't getting solved rather they are getting tangled. I don't how to untangle this mess to figure out what actually happened to Mom that day.
"I think we should ask your neighbours," suggests Jack
"It's a great idea, that way we can know if someone entered your place when you and your Dad gone. That way we can figure out to whom does the blood on the wall belong," Edward says
I nod my head. I don't anything, what happened that day, who is behind all this but I will find, I will find the truth behind Mom's death.
