Chapter 17

Questions, are things we ask because we want to know something. Why? How? When? Where? This thing happened, the world is filled with questions not all of them are answered but most of are. Curiosity often lead to questions and these questions are meant to be answered if they aren't the questions make us crazy and we keep on wandering our mind on one thought.

Even I need answers to my questions. It's been two days I am here at Uncle Henry's house with Lisa and Jack and I am not able to get my answers because the day I came here he went on some official business  meeting and he is supposed to come today. I had to spend two days which means 48 hours with my cousin Mia. She has only one topic to talk out of all the topics in the world that is boys, dress, makeup and the new fashion trends. That is so annoying for me! I just keep nodding to whatever she says. 

Right now she is out with her friends which is a relief for me. I am in my room waiting for Uncle Henry to come back, Jack and Lisa are there in their respective rooms. Edward has asked one of his cop friend to keep track on Finn Hazer. I really don't have any idea what answers I am going to get.

"Merliah!" calls out Aunt Evenly 

"Coming!" I reply

I go downstairs to find why Aunt Evenly is calling me. 

"Merliah, Henry is back so I have made something for you all to eat, so call out your friends so we can have our snack" she says

"Uncle Henry is back?" I ask with my eyes wide open

"Yes" she says

Thank God! Finally! He is back! I call out Lisa and Jack and we all five sit together to eat the lasagna pasta. It smells really good and it taste really good too but it is very hard for me to sallow down the food as I have to finish the food as fast as I can so I can talk to Uncle Henry. Lisa and Jack are giving me looks now and then and they are signalling me to talk to him after I am done with my food.  I just give them a nod.

After everyone is done, Uncle Henry leaves and goes towards his study room and I follow him.

"Uncle Henry!" I call out

"Yes, Merliah?"he says with a warm smile on his face as he turns back to face me

"I want to talk to you about something" I say, hoping he will give me some answers

"Yes, come in the study" says Uncle Henry as he goes inside

I follow him inside his study. His study room is covered in paint of colours of contrast of  mustard and brown. His study is quite clean, neat and very classy. Brown colored shelves attached on the walls with books of business, economy and may serious kind of books. At the end of the room there is light brown table.

Uncle Henry sits on the chair present near the fire place. I sit opposite to him.

"So, Merliah how have you been?" He asks with a concern on his face

"Good" I say which is partly true, life without Mom is not good

"When I last saw you, you were a little girl who has just suffered the loss of his mother" he says as he takes the glass of water kept on the side table and drinks it

"That time we came to Melbourne....." I am cut off by Aunt Evenly's voice

"Merliah!" She says as she barges in the room "What are you doing in here you should be out enjoying instead of sitting in this boring study" she says standing on the doorway

I am about to open my mouth to answer but Uncle Henry speaks

 "Evenly, I want to spend some time with Merliah" says Uncle Henry
