Chapter 16

Secrets are something we are meant to hide, keep it buried in ourselves forever and ever after. We hide something from someone because we had done something wrong or when we want to protect someone dearest to us because that time the truth needs to be untold, maybe because the truth even though it's the right thing can cause harm to those we love or change our lives forever. Secrets make person look mysterious as if there is something more to him than what we know and that is true. Secrets always bring suspense, mystery and the curiosity to know with themselves.

Everyone has secrets, there something in our lives we don't want to share with someone that is what secrets are meant to be. I guess even Mom had or not. Maybe they are things I don't know know about her. I was just seven when the incident took place,I couldn't know much then what I had seen. Maybe I am in the process of knowing her and uncovering the truth about what happened that day.

My Mom's friendship with Finn Hazer did shock me. When Edward said that Mom must have secrets even I got thinking into it maybe she has but now I realize that she doesn't there are many things about my Mom that I don't know. In the warehouse we have put up all the research we have done till now on a bulletin board.

"So what are we supposed to do know?" asks Lisa

Her question is right what are we supposed to do know.

"Merliah, did you see the reaction on your Mother's face when she saw Finn Hazer in her house?" asks Edward

I don't really remember much but I remember this much after Mom put me to sleep as soon as she left the room. I could hear voices coming from the drawing room, I came out of the room and went downstairs.

" Mom" I called out as I saw her standing on the stairs

"Merliah!" said Mom as she saw me "What are you doing here?" she asked

I walked down the stairs near her and I saw a man talking to Dad. I saw that man for the first time in my life. I looked at Mom she was shocked not just shocked she was tensed and worried.

"Mom who is the man talking to Dad?" I asked

"He is Dad's friend, Mr. Finn Hazer" she said "Let's get you back to sleep, you have to go to school tomorrow" she said and picked me up and we went back to my room

She put me back into my bed, she gave me a goodnight kiss and she was about to leave.

"Mom why are you tensed?" I asked as I was worried

"Nothing, you just go to sleep" she said and smiled at me

"Merliah!" calls out Lisa as she shakes me and brings me back from my travel down my memory lane

"Answer please!" says Edward

"She was shocked, tensed and worried" I say

Edward writes that thing on a paper and pins it on the bulletin board.

"We need to know about your mother and Finn Hazer" says Edward

Yes, we need to know more about him.

"I think Finn Hazer was that sad lover who didn't get his love" says Jack

"What do you mean?" I ask 

"Finn loved your Mom, they both dated. Your Mom couldn't keep up with long distance relationship so she broke up. Maybe Finn didn't want a break-up he still loved your Mom while she was dating  your Dad" says Jack

Whatever he said made sense maybe Finn Hazer is some mad-crazy lover who still loved my Mom while she was dating Dad.

"It means the letter gone from the box must be taken by Finn Hazer" says Lisa
