Chapter 14

The investigation, it's an important part of any case. Without it you can never reach the conclusion, you have to identify, follow the clues, join the links, find the key to the truth and finally get justice. That is what happens when you investigate a case but in Mom's case I think nothing happened maybe there was no investigation, I don't know what happened that day but I need to find the key to the truth and get justice to myself and Mom. The question which is eating me from inside needs an answer for that I need to investigate.

I am standing in the drawing-room, waiting for Grandma to come out of her room so I can tell her that I am going out. I am not going to tell her where, but I am just going to tell her that I am going out for some sightseeing. I see Grandma come out of her room.

"Grandma," I say and she looks at me with questioning eyes

"Yes dear?" she says

"The three of us are going out for some sight-seeing," I inform her

"Yeah sure you have to enjoy your summer vacation and even I am going out with a few of my friends" she says with a wink

My Grandma, I have to agree is very cool, but for now, enjoying doesn't suit me because for me finding the truth is more important. I go up to my room and call Edward.

"Edward," I say as I hear him pick up

"Yes Merliah?" he asks

"We are going to meet at Cinemaworld West Melbourne in half an hour," I say as I give him the address

"I thought we were supposed to meet around at 8:30 in the night," he says

"How am I supposed to get out of the house at 8:30 when Grandma is home?" I reason, Grandma is leaving now so I better leave too

"Okay fine then we will go according to our," he says

"Yeah," I reply

"Okay then meet you in half an hour," he says

The line goes dead and I head towards Lisa's room.

"We are going to Cinemaworld West Melbourne," I say as I enter her room

"I thought we were going somewhere else," she says giving me a confused expression

"We have to play along with the G code," I say, the G code is for Grandma instead of telling the entire word we have decided to say G code, so whenever we are lying to Grandma about something we use the G code

"Okay," she replies

I head towards Jack's room.

"We are going to Cinemaworld West Melbourne, G code," I say and he understands instantly

"When?" he asks

"In twenty minutes," I say as the Cinemaworld is only ten minutes away from the house

"Okay," he replies

I head towards my room, I really don't what am I going to find today, I just hope so it takes me a step towards finding the truth rather adding more to my confusion.

"Ready?" Jack asks as he enters my room along with Lisa

We both nod.

"Let's get going," I say as we get out of the house

We hire a cab and as I predicted we reach there in ten minutes. We get out of the car and I notice Edward standing near the entrance to the cinema world, looks like Edward Grayson is a punctual person.

"Looks like someone is on time," he says as he sees me

"Okay! Stop being sarcastic," I say

"So now we are heading to Merliah's house," says Jack as he double checks the plan
