The days were long for James Gordon. Too long for him to really stand. His small job as an intern for the CEO of Klass Incorporated, didn't do much to feed his wife and young child. His boss, Mason Gloss wasn't the gracious or generous guy. He barely paid James, and the times when he did it wasn't a fair pay. With a sigh, James wiped his arm across his forehead.
The sun had already gone down, and everyone had gone home, but Gloss told James to finish up some paper work and type up a couple documents for the directer, Mr. Houston. "Gordon do this, Gordon do that!" James fumed. "Why don't I get you coffee in the morning Mr. Gloss?! Oh, wait, I already do!"
Falling into the soft cushioned rolling chair, James got to work with the documents. He had finished writing up reports and signing documents. His fingers typed a mile a minute, threatening to burn the keys from the board. How could Gloss be so cruel?
James Gordon did all he was asked to the best of his ability. He never complained, he was never late, he even brought Gloss his phone which was 'too far' for him to reach. And he was still treated like dirt. How could he live on with a job that paid in harsh work?
James was still typing away when a small click reached his ears. The sound of ticking computer keys went silent. James stood and looked around the office. "Hello?" No one answered. Sitting back down slowly, James listened intently for any sound of a voice or anything. He heard nothing.
What he didn't see, was the silhouette of a person behind him. A knife in hand.... The gleam of silver metal caught James' eye. By the time he turned his head, it was too late.
