3rd Person's POV.
The five men knelt in front of their master. The man who ordered them to ransack the young man's home in search of the one thing he held dear. 'The Jade of Annihilation', Marcus Houston called it.
The key to their plan of world domination. "I gave you one job, Nick, Lent, Mal, Tanner, and Garth...." The men trembled at their knees. Mr. wasn't a man to be underestimated. Or disappointed.
"S-sir, we searched the entire apartment." Tanner reported. "Everywhere, we overturned, broke open and unlocked. We found nothing." Lent's forehead dripped with sweat. It as ironic since Mr. Houston insisted on never turning on the heater and he the coldest man on earth.
"T-the boy m-must have hidden it well....." Mal stuttered, and Garth nodded vigorously. "Or he had it with him the whole time...." Nick added quickly, not wanting to make their raid sound like an ultimate fail. Mr. Houston clapped slowly and dramatically. "Now that....gentalmen.....is the correct answer." He looked over the confused and fear-filled men.
"I never finished my sentence. I was going to say, that I gave you five one job......and you succeeded greatly! But four of you didn't understand the test. If you knew from the recap you were given a week ago, the boy always wears the jade around his neck. He has never taken it off."
The five men began to relax. They had succeeded! "But," Mr. Houston continued. "You didn't think properly. And it caused you to make mistakes." The four, Lent, Tanner, Garth, and Mal began to tremble once more.
"Nick!" Nick looked up sharply. "Y-yes sir?" Mr. Houston stared sternly at him, an evily playful face on him like a cat would have on an innocent sparrow. "What does one do when one makes a mistake?"
Nick's neck began to tingle like he might make a wrong turn, or it was a trick question. "W-well....sir....one must....erase the problem, and start anew..." Mr. Houston was pleased. "Exactly."
With that he whipped out a pistol and with three swift wrist turns, shot dead the four other men. "Well, done Nick. You have earned mercy." Houston patted Nicks shoulder which turned Nick's blood from freezing to cold, hard, ice. The men he had worked with for two whole years were lying dead at his feet, blood pooling from their heads.
"By the way, Nick." Mr. Houston held out his hand and sat at his chair behind his desk, regarding the dead men in front of him like muddy children footprints on his expensive tiger fur rug. Nick tore his eyes from the scene to his evil boss. "The file I leant to you five to understand my plan and to understand the importance of the jade. I would like it back."
Nick nodded. "Yes sir...." He grabbed the backpack from next to the ever starring Tanner and dug through it. "I haven't got all day boy. hand it over." Mr. Houston lifted his legs onto his desk. Nick looked up slowly, dropping the pack. "I-It's not here....sir...."
He didn't even get a reaction from Mr. Houston. Only a bullet right between the eyes.
Yeah, I know. It's not that long, but I thought I should add more suspense to it, before.......more suspense. And for you to get an idea of just who the kids are going up against. Hope you enjoyed!
