Chapter Thirty-Four: Shane? Your Brother Called

Ryland's POV

I was in the kitchen cooking some dinner for the people who can eat grown-up food. I also had a bottle getting ready for Rylee. But for some reason Shane left his phone in here, and just mysterious went and watched some TV with Shay. His phone started ringing, and it was his brother, Jerid.

"Hello?" I said when I answered.

"Ryland? Oh thank god! Where's Shane?"

"He's in the living room, why?"

"Um, mom's in the hospital.."

"What? Is she okay?"

"I don't know.. they won't let me in."

"Do you want me to tell him?" I asked.

"Uh, yeah. Sorry but I have to go." Jerid hung up. I walked into the living room to see a happy Shane. But I know that smile will quickly turn to tears.

"Uh, Shane?" He looked away from the tv and looked at me. "Your brother called. He wants you to go to the hospital.." He jumped up from the couch.

"Is everything okay? Who's hurt?"

"It's your mom.. Jerid said he can't get in to see her.." Shane imeditly grabbed his keys and ran out the door. I had to stay, Shay and Ry were here, and Shay had to leave soon for band practice (if you're wondering, she's a singer).

Shane's POV

I ran to my car. All I wanted is for my mom to be okay. She's over 70. Who knows, her heath hasn't been the best these last couple of years.

I got to the hospital and just ran around until I saw Jerid. I ran to him and just started crying.

"It's okay! Mom's going to be fine! We know she's a trooper!"

"Did doctors tell you anything?" I asked scared.

"It's her heart.." It felt like my heart stopped.

"So like.. Grandma?" He said yes. "My god! She's going to fucking die!" I sat on a chair and burried my face into my knees. I felt Jerid rubbing my back in comfort. It was soothing, like how he used to rub my back as a child when dad would yell at us.

I remember that day going by in a flash. Doctors everywhere, mashines beeping all over the place, the sounds of doctors yelling as they rush mom into the OR. The sound of Jerid and I sobbing when the doctor told us there was nothing they could do. I never got to say goodbye to my beloved mother. I miss her so much...
