*3 Months Later*

*Jack's POV*

After meeting Mark and literally talking him down from the edge of a cliff, as I predicted, we became great friends. I bid farewell to my parents after receiving a text from Mark. He'd said I needed to meet him at the cliff; he said it was urgent. I grabbed an umbrella to shield me from the pouring rain, which my parents thought I'd only be enduring for a minute or so before walking into a friend's house.

If only they knew where I was going...

*Mark's POV*

How do I tell him...? I can't! But it's too late now... Perhaps I should lie..?

Jack saved my life. He cared when I felt no one else did, and thanks to him, I finally stopped cutting. Whenever I wanted to, I'd call an emergency meeting, rain or shine, and he'd be there for me. Today, though, was different.

Today I had to tell Jack how I felt about him.

I walked to The Cliff, patiently awaiting Jack's arrival. Upon it, I smiled brightly, though I was soaked to the bone. He was quick to run over to me, sharing his umbrella.

"You're smiling... Should I be frightened?" He laughed.

I surely hoped not...

"No, no. I just... We have to talk."

"What about?"

I gulped and walked towards the ledge, and I felt Jack's blood run cold. I looked back at him reassuringly.

"This is where I was when you found me. I was teetering between a living hell and an early death. But then..." I grabbed Jack's hand, "... You pulled me away from the edge. You showed me I had everything to live for. And... You showed me that I could still love and appreciate another person."

He looked confused at that, but confusion faded into realization and then morphed into a happy satisfaction.

"Jack, I really like you. I... I love you. You saved me. I can't ever thank you enough for that, unless I were to sacrifice my life." He looked scared. "But I know thy would only burden you, so instead, I'd like to someday pledge my life to you."

He blushed a rosy red, ushering me back under the umbrella. When I was under, he pulled me close with his free hand and wrapped his arm around me.

"... I love you too, Mark..."

I choked back tears, but a few still fell on Jack's shoulder like the rain surrounding us. Noticing, he rubbed my back.

As I pulled away to look at him, he pulled me into a kiss. But that wasn't even the best part.

When we separated, the rain had ceased, and a rainbow projected itself across the sky, the sunset as its background. It was beautiful.

However, it wasn't as beautiful as Jack. Then again, nothing is.

"Mark...?" He spoke up, wrapped in my arms and smiling.

"Hm...?"

"... Im really glad you stuck around."

"And I'm really glad you found me when you did. Our start may include the sunset, but you're my light."

He blushed a dark crimson and kissed me once more.

We were an official couple moments later, and six years of dating later, I at the age of 23 and him at the age of 22, we were engaged to be married.

He is still my light and savior.
