I ran as fast as I could when the period ended. I didn't want to take any chances of Alec making a scene, so when we were dismissed I didn't even bother drying off.
By the time I was at my dorm I was panting. I closed the door, locked it, and ran into my room. I closed my bedroom door with a loud BANG and went into my bathroom.
I turned on the shower, undressed, and got in. I was hoping Alec would get the hint I didn't want to talk about what was wrong so he'd just drop it.
Boy was I wrong.
"MELODY!" he yelled and banged on the bathroom door. I froze and started to panic. "OPEN THE DOOR MEL!"
I didn't say a word. I just pretended I heard nothing when in fact, I was trying to figure out what I'd say to him.
"MELODY! IF YOU DON'T OPEN THIS DOOR I WILL!" he yelled.
I rolled my eyes at his immaturity and proceeded to act like this never happened.
I was in the middle of washing my hair when I heard a small click. I raised my eyebrow but shrugged it off thinking it was nothing.
Boy was I wrong.
Again.
"Melody!" Alec's voice became very clear. My eyes widened and I reached to grab my towel before Alec got any ideas. I wrapped myself into it and sighed. Although I hated the dark shower curtains when I first got here, I was thankful for them now.
"Alec! Get out!" I exclaimed and turned off the shower.
"Nope, tell me what's wrong first," he said and pushed aside the curtains. I gasped and instantly blushed. Even though I was wrapped in a towel, it was still short and it showed a fair bit of skin.
"ALEC!" I screamed.
"Well I'll be damned," he mumbled. I rolled my eyes and closed the curtains again.
"Get out!" I said firmly.
"You can't hide from me forever!" he said. "Or better yet, I'll ask Vivian, have a great shower," he said and walked out. At first I didn't care he was going to ask Vivian, until I realized she was there when the incident happened.
I gasped and ran out of the bathroom, holding onto the towel for dear life. "ALEC! ALEC NO!" I screamed.
I got to the kitchen where Vivian, Nate, and Alec were seated. "Vivian what's-" Alec started but stopped when I entered the room.
Nate starred at me shocked and Vivian didn't seem phased.
"Melody, sweetheart, what's going on? Is there a fire in your bathroom?" she asked. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.
"Don't say a word to him," I pointed towards Alec.
"What?" she asked.
"What's wrong with Melody?" he asked.
"Viv-" I started.
"What are you talking about Alec? Nothing's wrong with her," she concluded. I grinned and turned around to walk away until,
"Then why was she upset during surf class?" he asked.
"Oh! It's because of Lesl-"
"VIVIAN!" I yelled.
"Leslie?" Alec asked. "What'd she do?"
"She said she was meant to be with you and how she was gonna get you back. Or shit like that," Vivian continued. I groaned and walked back to my room to change before having a discussion about with Alec.
"Mel-"
"LEMME CHANGE!" I yelled over my shoulder and shut the door. I sighed and got out a pair of leggings and a simple baseball tee.
I walked towards my mirror only to realize my hair was still partially soapy.
"Oh great," I sighed and left it whilst telling myself I'd clean it out later.
I opened my door and walked out only to be bombarded with questions from Alec.
"Did she threaten you? What else did she say? Does she not get the hint?!" he rambled. I rolled my eyes and put a hand in front of his face.
"No. Nothing. I guess not. Look! Vi is right, she did say that, but I know, what we have, is real. So there's no need to make a big fuss about it okay?" I said and hugged him tight.
He was hesitant at first, but a few moments later I felt his arms wrap around me. I looked behind him and saw Vivian and Nate making kissing faces at us and I stuck my tongue out at them.
It's not like they're any better.
I detached myself from him and headed towards the couch. I turned on the TV and silently prayed that maybe there would be some English show I could comprehend.
Sadly I was wrong.
So I tuned onto a show I've already watched, Gossip Girl, and hoped I remembered everything that happened in that episode.
Cause that's how you learn a new language right? Maybe I should take Italian lessons while I'm here.
"Babe, start learning Italian. It'll make it a lot easier," Alec said.
"Well sorry Mister. I've only been here three months. You've been here like eight years," I defended.
He shrugged his shoulders and sat beside me with Nate and Vivian on the ground.
"Well, you can pretend like you know what they're saying, and we'll be here actually understanding," Nate said.
I rolled my eyes for the hundredth time today and pretended like he didn't say anything.
I'll learn Italian.
Eventually?
