6 years later
"God Mel you waited 6 years for him to pop the question you are NOT backing out now!" Vivian yelled. I rolled my eyes and walked frantically back and forth of my dressing room where I as currently in my beautiful, long, white, lace, wedding dress.
"I know I know but everything is falling apart!" I said.
"Ok sweetheart just because your third cousins twice removed aren't coming does not mean everything is falling apart," she said.
"That's not the point! That means there are 5 extra seats we need to fill!" I exclaimed.
"You know there are always-" she started.
"For God's sake NO! I haven't talked to them in 6 years and its far too late now! Im about to walk the aisle in 24 hours!" I yelled.
"Well Jesus you don't gotta yell," Vivian said annoyed. I sighed and sat down dramatically on the floor. "No no sweetie the dress will get dirty up up!" Vivian motioned. I got up, took of the dress, and sat down again.
"Gimme the damn phone," I said annoyed. Vivian obliged and I dialed the numbers I could never seem to forget.
The phone rang 3 times before someone picked up. "Hello?" he said. I opened my mouth not knowing what to say and stared at Vivian. "Hello?" he said again. Vivian waved her hands at me and I shook my head.
"Yes hi uh Tristan?" I asked.
"Yes who's this?" he asked. He didnt even rememeber my voice.
"M-Melody," I stuttered.
There was a moment of silence where neither of us talked until I finally spoke again. "Look I know we haven't talked in years and it's weird me calling but I'm getting married tomorrow and I was just wondering if you'd like to come,"
"Yes! Yes I'll be there! Where? What time? And wedding theme please," he said suddenly. I sat there shocked and looked at Vivian wide eyed.
"Uh Los Angeles, we can have a chauffeur come pick you up from LAX and drop you off at your hotel, the Comfort Inn, and then pick you up and drive you to the venue. The theme is white and blue," I responded.
"Zayn's colours," he said. I pursed my lips and looked down at my feet avoiding eye contact with Vivian.
"Yeah since he won't be able to uh be there," I said softly.
"Sounds good I'll definitely be there, thanks Melody," he said and I couldn't help but smile.
"Yeah no problem," I said and before we hung up he said:
"By the way, congratulations."
With that we hung up and I looked at Vivian. "Should I make the rest?" I asked.
"Just invite Alex. No reason to bring up toxic people right?" She said. I nodded.
"Should I invite Mi-"
"It's your wedding sweetheart. He's your brother. I don't think Alec would mind," she said with a smile. I nodded my head and made 2 more phone calls before finally being pleased that there would only be 2 places empty.

The next day I was hyperventilating and needed a serious therapy session.
"ELLA!" I yelled. She ran into my dressing room and looked around."What's wrong? Dress?" she asked.
"I can't. I can't do this. He's the love of my life what if-" I went on.
"No what if's! You just said he's the love of your life! This wedding is going to go smoothly and soundly and it'll be the greatest day of your life so calm it! Just let us handle everything okay? Your hair and makeup crew is on their way. Until then stop stressing, you're going to get pimples," and she walked out but not before giving me a quick hug.
-------------
My heart was beating so loud I was so sure everyone could here it over the music. My legs felt wobbly and I held onto my dad's arm tighter. He looked at me, smiled and let me go after reaching the end of the carpet. I was in front of Alec. Him looking so stunning it was unbelievable.
I turned to look at the priest and he smiled and started the ceremony. I wasn't even listening to the half of it because I was starring at Alec. When it was time to say our vows he went first.
"Melody, god I'll never forget the first time we met. Lemme just say that our first kiss was probably our most unexpected and I had no idea how important you'd become to me. You are my world, my rock, my anchor and whenever you're around I know everything will be alright. You never fail to humour me and you seem to always know what to say and I am so happy we are spending the rest of our lives together," he spoke. My eyes filled with tears and that's when I wished I wrote better vows.
"Alec, I will never forget the day we first met. You caught me by surprise and you turned my world upside down in the greatest way possible. You helped me get through the toughest time in high school and I will never be able to thank you enough. You are the love of my life. No one has ever compared to you and it's my honour to spend the rest of my life with you," I spoke. He smiled and I let a tear slip before looking at the priest again.
"Alec do you-" he started.
"Yes of course I do," he cut him off still starring at me.
"Uh and do you M-"
"Hell yes," I said with a grin.
"Well then in the power vest-
"Just lemme kiss her!" Alec said looking at him for the first time.
The priest looked at Alec with a confused expression and finally (tried) to say:
"You may k-"
"Finally," Alex muttered and kissed me. I kissed him back and while the clapping was going on in the background we pulled apart so our foreheads were touching and he whispered:
"I love you Pepper."
And I said:
"I love you Salt,"
The End...
