I turned around and saw the long brown hair.

"Hey!" She smiled and hugged me. She looked so pretty. "

You look." She studied me and looked at my outfit.

"You look so amazing!" She was all smiles. I smiled again.

"Thanks!" She crossed her arms and smiled more.

"Well, how are you Mar?!" She laughed and hugged me again.

"I'm....okay." She looked sad for a second, but perked right up.

"Well, I'm glad." She smiled. "Let's go shop silly."

We shopped for 2 hours. I bought 2 new shirts and some new jeans. Meanwhile, Aimee bought 4 new shirts, 2 new pairs of shoes, 3 pairs of jeans, 2 new purses, and some jewelry. She has always loved shopping.

"That was so fun!" She smiled and looked in her Aeropostale bag.

"Yeah it was!" I said looking at all of her bags.

"Ooh let's get pretzels." She laughed and grabbed my wrist. We made our way to Auntie Anne's. We both got lemonade and a pretzel.

"This is so good." She said with pretzel in her mouth. I laughed.

"I had so much fun Mar." She smiled and patted my head.

"It's hard having your best friend be in the hospital for like 3 months." She smiled and teared up a little.

"I know." I said and patted her head back. A few minutes later we were in the parking lot.

"Hey, I'll give you a ride." Aimee opened the drivers side door and stood there.

"Oh, uh okay!" I was happy she offered, taxi drivers creeped me out sometimes. I got in the car and smelled fruity perfume. Her car was really nice and neat.

"You car is great." She nodded and smiled at my compliment.

"Well, thanks." She started up the engine and her car roared to life. Then, I thought about school. I should ask how everything is.

"So, how's school? I sounded like a parent.

"Oh ya know, it's same old school." She laughed.

"Well, how are you and Ethan?" I looked at her while she was concentrating on the road. She looked so sad suddenly.

"........I don't know." She tried to smile but it came out as a pout.

"Are you...okay Aims?" I hadn't called her Aims since 9th grade.

"Yeah why?" She put on a big smile.

"You seem sad all of the sudden." I was going to shrug it off but the words slipped right off my tongue.

"I'm not sad Mar." She leaned over and looked at me confused. "Too much shopping in one day for you." She laughed at her own joke.

"Ha ha yeah." I was being so sarcastic but she didn't notice. She was acting different.

"So, how's..." She pointed to her head as in saying my amnesia.

"I only have a mild case ; I can remember more now that I have had some help." I tried sounding happy about the treatment. Truth is, I hate treatment. My psychiatrist is...okay and that's the only part of my recovery I'm okay with. I go to the hospital for meds and some doctors talk to me for treatment  on every Wednesday. It's torture for me.

"Well, I'm happy for you!" She smiled while stopping at a stop sign. "Thanks." She wasn't the same. I saw Lucas Crossing, the neighborhood right before mine.

"Almost there!" She smiled and sipped her lemonade.

"Yeah." I grabbed my bags from the backseat. Then, we were at my house. The windows and the house entirely are gloomy and gray now.

"Well, I had so much fun!" She smiled at me and I smiled back. She hugged me and I got out. Then, she drove off.

I got inside and heard Dr.Oz on. Then, I glanced over and a lamp was on in the entryway.

"Hello?" I was scared. I walked up the stairs.

"Hello?" What's going on. I walked slowly into the living room afraid of what was coming.

"Dear?" I shrieked and jumped hearing Grandma Carol's voice. "Whaaaa whaa what are you doing here?"I sounded super angry.

"Darling, calm down." She put her hand on my shoulder and sat me down on the couch.

"I'm here to take care of you, until the legal offices staraighten everything out to get you into a foster home. A foster home.

"What?!" I yelled scaring my grandma half to death.

"Dear?" She put her hand on her heart.

"You were gonna take me and leave me at a foster home?!" Her eyes widened.

"Well, I can't raise you honey." She walked closer to me and stroked my hair.

"Yes you can." I started crying and dropped my bags.

"I don't know what else I could do." I sobbed and she held me.

"When..*sob*  am I... going?" She smiled flatly and kissed my cheek.

"Well, the lady said in a about 2 weeks." I sighed and laid my head on her shoulder.

"Where am I going?" I sounded incredibly weak.

"She said...you would be going to North Carolina." Ugh. No way I'm leaving NYC for North Carolina.

"No." I got up and stood there. My grandma scowled.

"It's not up to you, dear." She stood up and crossed her arms.

"I don't care." I shrugged and rubbed my eyes from all the crying.

"You do not have a choice young lady." She stood up straight and tall. So that's where my mom got it from.

"Like I said, I don't care....I'm not leaving." I heard her sigh and I walked up stairs to my room and shut the door. I sat on my bed and got my phone out.

Hey Marley! You wanna come over?

Aw Jay. He had sent that at 2:00 when I was at the mall. I smiled and got up. I looked out the window and saw lights coming from a house down the road. Wait, that was Jay's house. I squinted and saw the blue and red flashing lights. I grabbed my flats and sweatshirt. I sprinted downstairs ignoring my grandma. My heart was pounding. I ran out the door and was horrified to what I found.
