I walked out of Jay's room I started sobbing as patients, doctors, and nurses, all looked at me like I was a screaming child in public. After I told Jay,  He told me that I should leave his room for a while. So, that's what I'm doing. I walked downstairs to the waiting room and sat in a chair right next to a little girl. I glanced at her and saw a little cast on her arm. She looked up at me and smiled.

"Hi." She poked me in the arm. I looked at her again and she widened her eyes when she saw that my face was red from crying.

"Are you okay?" She looked a little scared.

"Sorry. I'm fine. Are you okay?" I gestured to her cast and added a faint smile. She smiled at me.

"I broke my arm." I nodded at her.

"You're pretty." She touched my hair.

"Thank you. You are a cutie." She laughed at me and turned to her mom who was reading a People magazine. I turned my head and saw a nurse at the door saying someones name. The little girl got up and told me bye. Then, she skipped to the nurse while the mom followed. I sighed.

I went back upstairs to Jay's room and saw that the door was shut. I knocked 2 times. No answer. I knocked again and said,

"Jay?" No answer again. Then the nurse walked up to me.

"Are you looking for Jay?" I nodded.

"Oh. He was transferred." My mouth flew open. He left without telling me?

"I have all of your stuff with me." She tried to smile, but she could tell I was upset.

"Why would he leave me without even telling me?" I felt hurt so I sat down on the bench outside of the room. She sat by me.

"He looked very upset. I asked if you were still here with him and he said that you weren't." She shook her head and apologized.

"He was just transferred to our other hospital 20 minutes away from here." I nodded without saying a word.

"Wait, wasn't he supposed to leave tomorrow?" I asked.

"Yes." Why would they transfer him if he only had one day left here?

"Well, he did break a rib and that has caused him a lot of pain."

I nodded and stood up to leave.

"Do you need directions?" I shook my head,

"No, thanks. I'll find my way." She stood up scratching the back of her neck.

"Alright and here's your stuff." I nodded and walked away.

I got into my car and opened my bag to find a letter labeled Marley with black ink pen.

                  Dear Marley,

I really don't want to upset you, but maybe it's best we both move on. You will be leaving soon anyway and it's the best thing to do with our relationship. Please don't come to my new hospital. Just go home Mar. Yes, I love you and I know you love me too, but this isn't going to work out for us. I'm sorry and I hope you like NC.

                             - Jay

I crumbled up the letter and threw it in the backseat. There's no way I am going home. I started up the engine and drove to the other hospital.

I parked in the front of the hospital and ran in to find Jay. I got up to the desk and asked the lady where he was. She told me his room number and fled to the elevator. Before I knew it, I was in front of his room. The door was shut, but I didn't want to knock. I opened the door without knocking and saw Jay's head lift from his laptop.

"Marley, what are you doing here? I told you to go home." I teared up. "No, Jay."

We talked for about 2 hours and decided to try to keep our relationship together. It wasn't going to be easy though.

I woke up the next morning lying in a brown chair similar to the one I slept in at the hospital. I turned my head and saw Aimee and Jay standing by me and they shouted, "Happy Birthday!!"

I laughed and stood up to hug both of them. "Thanks guys." They both smiled at me and Jay handed me a blueberry muffin.

"Thanks." I took a big bite out of the side of it.

"I get to go home today too!" I smiled at him nodding.

Then Aimee spoke, "I came up with a few plans for your special day too because I'm an awesome best friend."

"Modest much?" I laughed at her. She threw her arms around me and smiled. I can already tell today is going to be a good day.
