Chapter 9

ADRIAN POV
I came home from work to see Sydney talking with someone. I didn't know who. ZD, Declan, Nathan, Adrianne, JR, Clarence, and Sydrian came dashing at me. I hugged them all and walked into the living to see three faces I knew. One of them, I hated. The other two I didn't really mind. It was Sydney's father, sister, and old supervisor. Zoe and Stanton I could stand. It was James that I hated. He has treated Sydney like shit for the last ten years. He had disowned her. Now he was in our living room. I walked up behind Sydney and kissed her. When I broke away, I gave the face that I needed to talk to her. Alone.
"Stanton. Zoey. Jared," I greeted.
"Would you please excuse me for one moment?" Sydney said politely. She followed me into her personal study. She madly asked, "What the hell, Adrian?"
"Yeah, I know what. He shouldn't be here!" I pointed out.
"He's only here because he thinks that we will take Zoey as a feeder."
"Why is the others here?"
"Zoey wanted to tell me about her engagement. She is also leaving the alchemist. She wants to marry a Moroi. This guy...I have met him before. He's pretty nice. Zoey wants me to be her Maid of Honor!"
"What about Stanton?"
"She had wanted to tell me how the alchemist are favoring her rule. She came to the me that they have agreed to lower the standards on the re-education center. They also agreed that if an alchemist wants to marry a Moroi or Dmahpir than they are free to do so."
"I can smell a but a mile away."
"But that person has to leave the Alchemist world."
"And they couldn't tell you this over the phone?"
"I insisted that they come. Plus Zoey. Actually got to see her nieces and nephews. Dad actually liked-"
"You still call him that. After all he's done to you!"
"You did the same thing with your father. No matter how many times Nathan Ivashkov had brought you down, you still called him dad."
"My father never said that I wasn't his child!"
"Adrian, for once look and see what's happening right infront of you."
"That man...I will never like him."
"At least like him while he's here or when we're with the kids."
"Fine, I will try."
"Thank-you."
We went back downstairs. Jared was playing with the kids in the backyard. So was Zoey. Stanton stood on the back porch.
"Oh your back," Stanton said.
"Yes, yes we are." Sydney replied.
"Is Ja-your father playing with his dhampir grandchildren?" I questioned.
"They insisted. I really wish this Jared would see how wonderful you are, Sydney." Stanton told Sydney.
"Me, too," Sydney replied.
That was when Jared came in. He told me that he wanted to talk to me privately. I was kind of scared because the last we saw each other, it did not go well. Besides our recent visit to St. Louise, the rescuing Jill in California did not go well. At all.
DMITRI POV
Rose walked into the hotel room and spun at the open space. She loved it. Abe got a room down the hall. This hotel was ran by a Moroi and Dhampir couple. They were billionaires and knew Abe very well. We arrived in Hawaii at day time. So Abe went to lay down for the night. I walked over to Rose and said, "This is where we'll be staying, love."
"Is this a dream?" Rose asked.
"No. This is real. Believe it or not."
"In having a hard time believing it, Dmitri! Now is this just vacation or is this an actual honeymoon?"
"This is an actual honeymoon."
"Comrade, come here."
"Okay."

"I do not want to consider this a honeymoon until I am no longer pregnant and we are alone. That's okay, right?"

"Yes. I will just let Lissa know."

I walked over to her. We began kissing. It was amazing. I took her to the bed and made love with her. The vacation was going just as planned. Four months had passed and I began to worry whether our plan was going to work or whether our plan was not going to work.

One night, I woke up to hear screaming. Rose was in the bathroom. She was the one screaming. There was also blood on the floor. I ran over to her, picked her up, and carried her out of the hotel. Abe was coming in to the hotel when he saw us. He had flagged down the taxi he just got out of. The taxi drove us to the nearest hospital. I walked in, Abe following.

"Hello, may I help you?" the lady at the desk said.
"Yes you can!" Abe said.
"My wife is pregnant with twins. I woke up to hear her screaming. I saw blood on the floor and decided to rush her here," I explained. "We were on vacation. She's bleeding. I dont want her to die."
"Name."
"Rosemarie Belikov."
"DOB."
"March 21st, 1992."
"Medical card."
"Mr. Mazur would you kindly reach into my back pocket and grab my wallet. There should be a white card that says Moroi Insurance."
"That's fake. There is no insurance called Moroi Insurance!"
"Nurse Johstone please just get my wife taken care of. And yes there is. All you have to do is call the number on the back of the insurance card."
Within ten minutes, a doctor called us back. We were put in a room. Ten minutes after that Janine arrived.
"Janine, what are you doing here?" Abe asked.
"Lissa told me. She allowed me to leave Court without Lord Szelskey," Janine replied. "He was going to be leaving in ten hours and Lissa just told me to go ahead."
"Right now Guardian Castile and Guardian Rivers are looking after him. He's pretty upset." I told Abe. "Lissa informed me that you were coming."

Rose woke with pain and I called for the doctor. He said that she was having pre-birth contractions and that there was nothing to worry about. Rose looked at him and said, "I don't give a shit. I am in labor. I know that I am because this is my fourth pregnancy. I miscarried one child because the doctor didn't know what to do. But do you care? No!"

"That's enough Rose." Janine said.
"No it isn't. How would you feel when you begin bleeding and the doctors tell you its nothing. I won't let it happen again. No. I demand to see a real CARING doctor. And I want to do a c-sec because I don't want Yeva and Ibriam dying!"

Just then the door opened and Lissa walked in. She wore a simple outfit. Well, a simple, royal outfit.

"May I help you?" the doctor asked.
"Yes you can," Lissa replied. "I am Queen Vasilissa. I hear that my guard is in labor and so I come to help."

"I've never heard of you before. Where do you reign?"
"Cordonania."
