*Chase's POV*

I couldn't sleep after we got home. Bree sought the sleeping Blue to her room and changed her lifeless body into her pajamas while Leo, Adam, and I changed out of our suits. Mr. Davenport gave me a firm scolding for my 'recklessness' in the handling of my high tech suit as well.

But while Adam fell asleep in his capsule, and Bree not having returned quite yet from Blue's room, I began to pace back and forth in front of the consoles, yet quietly enough as to not wake up Adam.

I had felt so... Powerless back there. I don't recall ever actually feeling like I couldn't do anything in such a dire situation before. All that I knew was how much I already hated the acquainted feeling. Blue could have been killed. I don't think that I'd ever be able to consider forgiving myself if she died without us giving our own lives or her leaving with anger from a fight. The last thing that we were doing was fighting, I suddenly recalled. Maybe if I hadn't been so stupid she wouldn't have run off? Maybe then S2 couldn't have abducted her and brought her to that monster.

I had been so engulfed in my thoughts that I didn't recognize the certain scrawny, chocolate skinned boy sulk into the room.

"Chase?" Leo's confused voice bounced off the walls.

I quickly whipped around to see Leo with an intense melancholy expression drawn across his young features. "Leo?" I asked in concern. "What's wrong? Is Blue alright?"

"Blue's fine," Leo sighed walking forwards a small bit. "Bree headed to the kitchen after she put Blue to bed. She says she's not stress eating, but she won't stop shoving cheese curls into her mouth," he explained in a dry voice.

I shot him a worried glance. "It's something else, isn't it?"

Leo nodded, and, for a split second, I thought I saw tears glittering in his dark eyes, but they disappeared as soon as they had arrived.

"Chase, we just got over Douglas's attack on our lab, which I'm shocked that Blue hasn't even noticed how kind of messy this place is. Blue showed up right in the middle of a crisis, and when we killed her mother and found out about her inhumanity..." He paused to take a shaky breath. "Krane is at large and he already gave us his first blow. Now he's determined to take Blue from us and who knows how long it'll take for us to get her back. I'm starting to think that it would have been better if she had never met us. How long do you plan to keep withholding the truth from her, Chase?" He suddenly turned to me.

I looked down to the floor. I was supposed to be the smartest man in the universe and yet I didn't know the answer to the simplest of questions.

"Chase, Big D is starting to get worried," Leo explained. "If you don't tell her, Big D and I will."

And with that, Leo turned on his heel, and sulked back out of the lab to his room. I leaned against the center console and ran a hand through my hair, trying to come up with an answer to this seemingly impossible equation.

She may not be human. She may not be the best girl to come to for advice. And she may not even have an ounce of honesty in her being. But she is one of the most incredible and peculiar girl I have ever seen. She had been abused throughout her entire childhood, and yet she still managed to form a smile on others faces. She may only be able to muster a broken smile, and she may not have trustworthiness written in her limbs, but...
