We arrived at the city hall around 3:30pm. Mother hugged me tight before I joined the line for the 17 year old girls. As I watched in line; I watched closely as I saw people stand in front of our 3 elders. The elders discussed between each other before reaching a decision.
Up next was a girl named Katlyn who sat at the back of my English class at school. She walked to the platform with shaking knees. The Elders shook their heads and she was carried to the execution room screaming. I felt sad even if I didn't know her personally.
"Angel Snow?" The mayor called. My heart beat loudly in my chest as I walked to the platform and waited. They sat on dark wooden chairs that had twisted vines wrapped around the legs. They seemed to loom over me; making me feel weak and small. They used their wisdom to see into me causing them to gasp and scream. My stomach sank and my heart skipped a beat. "You-you- DREADFUL CREATURE!! GET OUT!" They screamed. Tears formed in my eyes and I blindly ran off the platform and ran out of the building into the deep, icy snow.
