The screams and shrieks were still reverberating in the room, causing Wren's ears to ring from the high pitch. She could see six new faces before her, three female and three male, and all looking way too young to be the parents of her mates. All of the men (her's included) were wincing slightly from the loud noise that had escaped from all three ladies' mouths.
Of the females, one had bright red hair and was laid out on the floor. One had deep black, almost blue hair and was getting a pitcher of water from the table. The last was a pale blond, her hair almost white, and she was making a bee-line for Wren. The one with the water just tossed the entire contents over the one on the floor, causing her to wake with a sputter. The tall blond lady was soon uncomfortably close. Her hands came up to frame Wren's face, then her finger trailed over the lines of her marks.
The woman's smile was huge as she pulled Wren into a bearhug, actually picking her up and spinning her around. Before anyone could say a word, she started a tirade of questions, not pausing for a breath.
"Oh my, which one do you belong to? Are you my Vanny Boy's? or one of the others? Do you have any sisters? Have the boys met them yet? Or maybe you have some close friends? We need to meet them ASAP! Maeve! Aveline! get over here! One of our boys has met their mate! That means, soon they all will, and then we'll get GRANDBABIES!!! Now what did you say your name was dear? And your friends, or sisters? Don't be shy darling, speak up. We already love you, so no need to be so timid."
A man that looks like a dark-haired version of Van comes up behind the still babbling woman, and with a friendly wink at Wren, he brings his hands around the woman and puts them over her mouth, turning her endless stream of words into a continuous muffled murmur. "Elowen, sweetheart. You must breath, count to ten, and then wait to see if they answer before you ask another question."
She nods, and signals for him to release her but he keeps his hold. Eyes twinkling, he looks at Wren, "Now dear, I am Garrison, Vanguard's father. This talkative, stunning woman is Elowen his mother, and my mate. My I have the pleasure of getting to know you?"
"Hello sir, my name is..." Wren's words stumble to a stop as the other two ladies join the group. The dark haired one, smiles at her, but it is the redhead that startled Wren so. She reached up and pushed Van's dad to the side. "Listen here Garrison, we don't have time for your dilly dallying, and beating around the bush." Recognizing the voices from the phone call earlier today, Wren knows that the redhead is Ian's mom, so that means the black haired one is Gray's.
Ian's mom, Maeve, spins around eyes and lips wide in a smile of glee, her wet hair splattering droplets over all those around her. Her bright green eyes settle on Wren. "Whose, are you?"
Wren is overwhelmed. They keep saying which one, she thought if they could tell that she was mated they would know that it was to all three. She didn't know that she would have to announce it. What if they are disgusted with her? or thinks she's joking? Her voice is meek, barely a whisper. "I'm the mate to all three."
Aveline, Gray's mom, tilts her head to the side. "I'm sorry, which one did you say?"
Wren swallows hard. Wringing her hands and chewing on her lip, her nerves causing her to shake.
Soon a calming warmth surrounds her as Ian and Van step to either side of her, holding her hands. Gray stands behind her, bringing an arm across her sternum and pressing her back to his front. Wren relaxes, knowing that they will take care of any explanations.
But before any of them can speak, Aveline calls out a loud "Yes! I knew my boy would find his mate first!" She then spins to the other two ladies, their faces crestfallen, "you both owe me a hundred dollars."
