Gray uses his telekinesis to slam Gwendolyn into the wall. Van holds his blade up at her throat. Ian elongates his claws and he struggles to hold his human form, his jaw jutting forward making his words slur. "What the fuck are you doing here? If you think for even a moment we will let you hurt our mate again you are sorely mistaken."

Van's blade inches closer, the sharp edge flirting with the delicate skin of her neck. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't kill you right now? And, you better make it good."

Gray hisses, venom dripping from his fangs. "I don't think there is any excuse good enough to repair the damage she's done to our mate."

Gwendolyn stares at them, tears filling her pleading eyes. "Please, I can explain."

Ian growls. "You can explain?! Really! Can you explain why you ripped out our mate's heart and stomped it into the dirt? Can you make up for the heart-breaking tears she's shed? Her life has been a craptastic series of catastrophes and sorrow, then just as everything seems to be falling into place you had to come along and just shit on her some more!"

"I'm so sorry. I..." Gwendolyn breaks down into sobs, her voice unable to escape.

The door's thrust open and a wild-eyed Atticus bolts through and to Gwendolyn's side. He tries to draw her away from the sword but he cannot budge her from Gray's hold.

"Please. Hold off and let her explain." Atticus begs.

Gray's eyes flash a bright red, his fingers itch to thrust forward and rip out Gwendolyn's heart. "Why should we? Did she give Wren a chance? No. Without even asking her daughter any questions she rejected her. I'm not even sure why, it's not as if she knew anything about her but that we were her mates."

Van leans forward, sword still brushing against her skin. "Are you the one who threw her in the trash? Why didn't you want your baby?"

She shakes her head, uncaring as his sword leaves a fine line of red as it nicks her throat. "No! I swear. I wanted my baby, I still want my baby."

Ian growls, slamming a fist near her head and leaving a hole in the wall. "You sure as fuck have the strangest way of showing that. Why should we believe you?"

"Please. Can you bring Wren out here and I'll tell you everything? Please..." Her voice falls away as Gray's invisible hold tightens around her throat."

"You don't speak her name. You don't get to break her heart again." He releases his hold and she gasps for breath. "You can plead your case with us. If we find you worthy we will honor you with Wren's presence. Her name can pass your lips once you've earned her forgiveness."

She nods meekly and the Brothers take one step back. She falls to her knees, hands clasped as if in prayer.

"I'm so sorry. I thought she was lying. I thought she heard our story somehow and was using Atticus' grief to try and gain some favor."

The men snarl, offended that she would think so ill of their sweet Wren.

"Please. You have to understand. I held my lifeless babe in my arms. I wept over her still, stiff form. For hours, I held her cold body against my own, praying and begging for God to take my life and give it to her. Then when I fell into an exhausted slumber she was stolen from me. I didn't even get to lay her to rest."

Her hands tremble as she holds them out in supplication. "For years I hoped for a miracle and for years I was left bitterly disappointed. When Atticus first told me she was ours, I felt as if he was betraying me, to tease me with my greatest longing. But then I realized he would never be so cruel, not when his own heart has been so empty aching for the same as I. So, then my anger went towards Wr... her."

The brothers relax throughout her telling. Van slips his sword in its sheath. "What changed your mind?"

Atticus kneels down beside her, brushing away her tears and kissing her temple. "I caught up with her and she finally let me explain more about Wren's life thus far."

"He also let me feel as he did when he touched her cheek. An Angel knows its kin. She is our baby. I can only pray she will forgive me." She sobs into Atticus' neck and he comforts her with gentle hands.

"Of course, I forgive you." Wren's soft voice sounds from behind her mates. They part and Wren rushes between them, falling to her knees, embracing both mother and father.
