Atticus stiffens. "Damn it."
"What is it dad?" Wren asks, her voice lilting and loving as she calls him dad.
He smiles at her, hand cupping her cheek. "I love hearing that. I thought I'd never get to hear my child call out to her father."
"Well, I love having you, and mom, in my life. I've always longed for you and I'm so happy to be yours. But what is it that upset you?"
"Oh, yes. I just received a message from Victor. They've caught Patricia, which is great. But they would like us to meet with them and dispense justice before any more escapes can be planned."
"That sounds like a good idea."
"It is. I was just enjoying getting to know my daughter. I don't want to part ways for even a minute."
Wren blushes. "Thanks dad." She says in a whisper.
The brothers smile at her with love, so happy that their mate is no longer broken hearted. They watch as Wren leans against her father, hugging him. She then turns to her mom.
"I love you mom, dad."
"We love you too. So much." Gwendolyn cries, kissing Wren's cheeks.
Gray stands and holds out a hand to Wren. She grasps hold and joins him and her mates. Gray pulls her snug to his chest. "Atticus, Gwendolyn. Why don't we all go with you. With the four of us, all our parents, and the remaining council members we would be more likely to withstand any other attempts to release Patricia. Plus, that would give us witnesses to our judgement in case her family or friends try to say that it was an unfair hearing."
"Yes." Atticus says. "That would work well."
"It's decided then. Where are we meeting?"
Atticus explains through the mind link, being cautious that no one could overhear. 'We will meet 2 miles south of Mill Road. There is a clearing in the wood there that Victor felt would be secure.'
They leave at once. Not bothering with vehicles as it's much faster to use their supernatural abilities.
Within minutes they are at the gathering spot. Victor, Emma and Helena hold Patricia down. Helena has her golden sword out, pointing towards Patricia's heart threatening to kill her if Oscar, Patricia's mate, takes a step closer.
Van quickly cages both Oscar and Patricia with his abilities letting the others in the Council relax their stances.
Atticus stalks forward, hand reaching out and grasping Patricia around the neck. "I should just kill now. Not only for whatever scheme you and Walter had against the Guardians, but also because you nearly killed my daughter."
"What? Your daughter has been dead for years, how are you placing that on me."
Gwendolyn takes out her dagger, dragging it down Patricia's arm. "You bitch! You almost killed my daughter before I could even meet her."
"What are you talking about? Your daughter is dead. D. E. A. D. Dead. God, I threw her in the dumpster myself..."
The Brothers rush forward, Gray grabs hold of her head, forcing her onto the ground. Ian extends his claws digging them into the flesh of her legs holding them still. Van takes two daggers, and thrusts one into each of her hands, and into the dirt underneath her.
Atticus stares down into her horror-stricken eyes. "You. You threw my baby away? How did you get her? Why did you do such a thing?"
Her eyes burn with hate. "I won't tell you a thing. And you can't make me. I know I'm going to die and I won't give you the satisfaction of knowing what I did to your precious baby."
