light

they say light brightens up your future
starry eyes with cotton candy filled smiles
the light wakes me up everyday, from a tragedy that I wish to sometimes not live again
the light whispers to me what I shall do, and rescue and dive deep deep down
sometimes the light says, "stay shallow,
You never know what could happen"
but then there are always the chances
there are always chances of the light gleaming a wrong way or not even shining at all, which is the worst thing
they've always said to let your light shine out of you like the billions of stars in the sky, but when you can't there's really no reason for anything anymore
you don't feel the need to smile or laugh or shine or be brave, you're kind of just there
you're there in the alone field where the clouds cover everything up
I have been in this field before, but I never want to be in it again
This field makes me feel like I'm not ready to belong
So I've learned to just reach for the clouds, reach and reach till you can sit on the translucent white hills in the sky
please
