Shyanne's pov

I gasp and sit up to see Derek on top, punching Mr. Blair. I didn't even hear anyone coming into this room.

I slide off the desk and grabbed Derek's arm.

"Fucking bastard!" He yells angrily. I tried pulling him off but he wouldn't budge. My teachers face was being bashed. "Derek stop! You're going to kill him!" I yelled as I tried pulling him off again. When I did, I saw his face.  is face was red and his hair was messy.

He was breathing hard. I've never seen him like this before.

"Are you okay?" He asked, looking down at me. I nodded. "I'm fine." I told him. I look back at my teacher who was knocked out.
"I should call the hospital." I say.
"Leave him there. He deserves everything he got." He says.

He looked like he was getting angry again so I turned his face towards mine. "Thank you." I said. His face softened which made me feel better.

"Let's go." He said. He took my hand in his and we walked away. I looked back at Blair. Derek's right, he did deserve it.

For the first time, I felt... comfortable with Derek.
~~~~~~~
He walked me all the way back to my dorm. I remember that Maggie wasn't here, because she was hanging out with Hayes.
"Derek, thank you. If you hadn't come on time..." I bit my lip. "It's over. Just, change classes. You definitely have to talk to someone about that, or I will. He can't go unpunished." He spat. I nodded.
"I know." I sighed. I looked down at his hands which were bruised and bloody.
"I can help you with that." I say, pointing down to his hands.
He just shook his head. "It's fine. I deserve it anyways." He shrugged. I'm not sure what he meant by that.
"Well let me get some ice for you." I suggested. Before he could disagree, I opened my door.
I stepped inside and went inside the mini fridge. I took out the ice bucket. I looked over to see Derek still standing in the doorway.
"Come inside." I said. He slowly walked in.
I put the bucket on the little table by my bed. I got some paper towels and put some ice inside.
I looked down at his hands. "Your should probably wash your hands." I said, looking back up at him.
He walked over to the bathroom. I heard the water run. I look to see the flowers in a small vase. When did we have a vase? I hear Derek coming out of the bathroom and I turn around. His hands were clean now, so I handed him some ice. He took it and placed it over his knuckles.
I see him staring at something behind me. I turn and look behind me. Is he staring at the flowers?
"Are you starting at the flowers?" I ask. "Yeah. Do you like them?" He asked. "Yeah, I do. They're really pretty. But blue orchids are my favorite." I said. He just nodded. "I'll remember that next time." He said. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "I got you those." He finishes.
"Oh?" I said in a surprised tone.
"If you don't want-"
"I'm keeping them." I cut him off.
"They're really pretty, and I like them." I smiled. He stared at me for a while before smiling too.
I just stood there awkwardly. What am I supposed to say?
"I should go now." He said while walking up to me. He handed me the ice. "Keep it." I say. I'm not the one who needs it.
He nods. Okay...
I cross my arms over my chest.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked nervously. There was a knock on the door making me jump.
I turned my attention back to Derek. "Yeah." I nodded. He gave a smile and nodded.
I walked towards the door and opened it, revealing Cameron and Madison. They both had a look of confusion on their face, Cameron especially. He held flowers in his hand. "Hi?" It came out more like a question.
"I'm gonna go." Derek said. I turned around to look at him. He was glaring at Cameron. "Okay." I moved aside. I saw Cameron giving the same look towards Derek. What's wrong with them?
Madison walked inside, Cameron
Following her.
"Why was he in your room?"
Cameron asked. He looked slightly upset. Should I tell them?
"He bashed this guy's face in and I gave him ice for his hand." I said.
That wasn't a lie.
"Who are those flowers from?" Madison asked. "They're so pretty!" She said before sniffing them. Cameron looked at me.
"Anonymous." I shrugged.
"Anyways how may I help you?" I asked.
"Well I came to hang out with you because I'm your friend." Madison laughed.
"I was just dropping off these." He said, wiggling the flowers. "But I guess your fine with those." He said pointing to the other set.
"None sense. I love flowers. I also love food but these'll do." I chuckled.
I take them and place them into the same vase.
"Well I have things to do but, I'll see you tomorrow." Cameron said before kissing my cheek. I nodded. He then left the room, closing the door behind him. I turned to look at Madison who had a look on her face that I couldn't point out.
Was it judgement? Confusion? Probably both.
"What?" I asked.
"These pretty roses, are from Derek aren't they?" It was more like a statement when she said that. "Yes?" I winced. "And you kept them? I don't get it. You said you didn't like him but you keep his flowers?"
"At first I thought they were from Cameron." I said honestly. "Derek just told me that they were from him." I said. Madison was staring at my cheek. She walked closer to me. "What happened here?" She asked softly. "Huh?" I asked.
"Your face. It looks like.. someone grabbed you? I don't know." She examined and I stepped back.
"Did Derek do this?" She asked and I shook my head. "No! Derek did not do that. Mr. Blair did." I say.
Madison looked shocked.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"If it wasn't for Derek, I wouldn't be. He saved me from him." I told her. Madison scoffed. "I told you he was weird. I just knew something was off. You gotta tell someone about this. He can't get away with it." She said.
"I know. Derek did knock him out though. I'm gonna tell someone. Don't worry." I said as I made my way to my bed.
"Does Maggie know?" She asked and I shook my head. "No." I answered. "Oh. Well she's too busy hanging out with Sam so." I looked at her confused.
"What? No she's hanging out with Hayes. Her boyfriend."
Madison shook her head at me. "You do know that Maggie is sleeping with Sam, right?"
I gape at her. "And your letting her cheat on Hayes?" I asked.
"I'm not letting her do anything. If she wants to cheat, let her do it. I told her it was wrong but she's not listening to me. She'll eventually get caught." She looked down at her nails.
"I don't understand why though. Hayes is good to her. She's messing it up with some fling." I put my head in my hands.
"You never know. Sometimes your head tells you one thing and your heart tells you another. Maybe she wasn't meant to be with Hayes. Maybe she was meant to be with Sam. But I don't know." He shrugged.
I immediately started to think about Derek. I don't even know why.
