Shyanne's pov

We've decided on not going into class today. I haven't gone to someone yet, and I'm afraid he's still there.

Even though I was up, I stayed in bed.

"Oh my god, are you okay?" Maggie asked. She sat down on my bed and placed her hand on my forehead. I moved her hand away from me. "I'm fine." I said as I tried hiding under the covers.

"Who are you? The sun is already out and you're still in bed? The roles have either been switched or you're not Shyanne Thomson." She says. I sigh and pull the blanket from over my head.
"Maggie, I'm fine. I'm just not going to class today." I tell her softly.

"Hey uh, not to be off topic," she tucked some hair behind her ear.
"But Maddie told me that Derek was here with you yesterday. You guys were alone..." The last part sound more like a question. I shook my head. "No, it wasn't anything like that. We just talked. Sort of." I say. "Sort of?" She questioned.

"He uh... got in a fight." I said while nodding.

"Okay?" She said and nodded slowly.
"And I helped his bruised hand, that's all." I bit my lip.

"Oh. I though he came to tell you that he gave you those flowers." She snorted. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Wait what? You knew all this time that Derek gave me those flowers? How did you even know? Why didn't you tell me?" I ask questioning quickly.

"Well it was a nice gesture and I thought the anonymous thingy was cute. I knew he wrote it by his handwriting. It's not the best." She chuckled.

"To be honest, I thought you were gonna throw them away, that's why I didn't tell you." She continued.

"I probably would in the past. I told him I was keeping them. We're actually hanging out today."

"I'm so lost. What did he do? Why are you actually not grimacing when you hear his name?" She laughed.

Oh nothing. Just saving me from getting raped.

"Let's just say he came in when I needed someone. But don't worry, it's nothing big. I still kinda dislike him. I can't and won't forget." I say with a small shrug.

"I understand." She puts a hand on my shoulder. "Maggie, you should get to class. I don't want you to be tardy." I sat up in the bed.

"Alright well, I'll see you later on. I'll text you." She said while getting up off the bed and walking over to her side of the room to put on her shoes.

"Bye." She said once she was ready, and left.

I puffed and slid back down in the bed. I pulled the covers all the way over my head, as I layer down in a fetal position.

Only one thing was on my mind and it was Derek.

For the first time, I'm not thinking of him with hate but gratefulness. Now this doesn't mean everything is all sugar and sweet. I still remember everything he's done and said to me. I'm not brainwashed by his heroic save.
I mean, if he hadn't come in on time, it would be the same.

Everything would the same.
Only by a different man.

But I am thankful for his presence and that's why I'm going to hang out with him today.

"Madison! Will you stop trying to put make up on my face!" I push the beauty blender from me, and she pouts.

"I was just trying to enhance your features." She says as she puts it down.

"Why? I'm not trying to impress anyone." I say as I got off the chair. "Oh I know. The only one you should be trying to impress is Cameron." Madison said as she  crossed her arms over her chest.
"Were not... dating." I said.

"Well you guys went out on a date, been making out with each other, and he's giving you gifts. Sounds like you guys are dating." Maggie shrugged.

"Well, he hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend." I told them.

"Well I'm pretty sure he'll ask you sooner or later." Madison said.
"But anyways, you look good." She smiled and gave a thumbs up.

There was now knocking at the door and Madison went to open it.
"I look okay?" I whispered. "Girl, you'll always look good even if you aren't trying." She smiled. I smiled right back. What did I do to deserve a friend like Maggie?

"Oh hey, Cameron?" Madison said more like question. I looked over to the door to see Cameron with a little red rectangular box in his hand.
"Wassup." He said before stepping inside.

"Cameron!" I say in a surprised tone.  "Hey babe." He says before handing me a box. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Are these?" I started before opening the box. I opened it and saw that there were chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels inside.
I gasped and looked at him. "Oh my god I love chocolate covered anything!" I laughed.

"Me too." Maggie said as she took one of the strawberries from the box. Madison did the same and then gave me a smile. I chuckled and shook not head at them.

"But I honestly feel bad now. I don't have anything to give you." I said as I closed the box.

"Well there's one thing." He started. "Would you like to be my-"

There was knocking on the door.
It was already opened so I saw Derek knocking.

"Derek." Maggie walks up to him.
"You're interrupting a special moment here." She said.
"I am?" He asked in general.
"You are." Cameron gave him a tight smile.

"What were you saying?" I asked Cameron.

"Oh yeah. Shyanne, would you like to be my girlfriend?"
