Why Are We following her again?

Just a little more. I'll stop. I promise. We can go back to practicing tomorrow.

Why don't I believe you?

I promise!

Yeah yeah.

I watched Mabel and Waddles wander the forest. She had searched the place where she had seen me last night and had only moved deeper in. Was she... Looking for me?

I'm telling you. You need to show her.

I... I...

Chicken.

I watched her stop for a rest, sitting on Jeff's house. The disgruntled gnome came storming out of course. No one liked their house being sat on. And then she surprised me. She hugged the gnome.

After what happened with them?

And then things escalated out of control. Jeff called his clan out and they began chasing her.

I ran after them, jumping from branch to branch high above her. I stopped as she entered a clearing. Gnomes appeared around her. She was surrounded.

This is your chance. Save her.

But what if she sees me?

Suit yourself, but I am not going to listen to you winging on about her death for the next hundred years.

D-death!?

I lost control of myself as He made me jump from the tree into the midst of the gnomes. He waved my hand and a circle of high blue flames formed around Mabel and Waddles. Then He cracked my knuckles, something that still made me flinch, and snickered.

"Well then, is there something I can help you with?" He asked through my mouth.

"This doesn't concern you Alcor! This girl was claimed by me before your time!" Jeff said.

"Be that as it may, I don't think she wants to go with you."

"She doesn't know what she wants,"

"That's not true!" I said out loud. He pushed me down quickly and cleared my throat, "well then, I suppose we'll have to negotiate this a little more forcefully."

And just like that. He dove down and swiped with my hand, knocking multiple Gnomes away. The movement sent a shockwave of blue flames that petered out as it reached the treeline.

"Stupid body. I used to be able to kill on a whim. Now I have to do this the hard way."

No! Don't kill them! Scare them sure but don't kill them!

"Chicken." He muttered. And then he put my hands on fire and rose them above his head, lifting my feet inches off the ground, "who wants some more?"

Wave after wave of Gnomes crashed against us. They didn't matter. Blue flames was a basic power, used to make deals or as a weak weapon. But the Gnomes weren't very strong, and each hit sent them toppling like bowling pins.

But still. My energy was fading and the hits got weaker. Finally he stopped and gasped, panting as he watched the gnomes regroup.

"Time to try something else." He flew into them. Levitation was easy but I panicked and caused him to veer off course and almost hit a tree.

Dammit Pine Tree, your fear of heights is not helping right now!

I can't help it!

Try to!

He finally got back control and began flying headfirst into the masses of Gnomes, lighting my body of fire as he did so, making an unstoppable weapon of himself.

Eventually the Gnomes were beaten back. The badly burnt ones were out of the game. While the cowards ran. The mob got smaller and smaller until finally only about two dozen, including Jeff were left. He leaned over until he was nose to nose with the gnome and whispered. "Boo."

And they ran.

He turned and the wall of flames subsided, at the same time he pushed me into control. I panicked as I saw Mabel there, but then I noticed she wasn't looking at me. She wasn't looking at anyone. She was lying there, hands over her ears, as she cried, tears streaming down her face as she screamed silently.
