You lay in your bed, Dana beside you. He has his arms around your waist as he sleeps, breathing lightly against your neck. You’re wide awake and lying there, savoring the moment.
Dana shifts slightly and mumbles something against your neck as he gently touches your hair, running his fingers through it. He’s always loved the feel of your hair.
You roll over and lay your head on his chest, slipping your arms around his neck. It’s the moments like these, tender and gentle that matter the most, because they are what let you know just how safe and sound the two of you are with each other. They hold a very deep intimacy that you only share with each other and no one else could understand, because it’s just between the two of you.
He opens his eyes, but only slightly, as he rolls towards you, encompassing you in his arms and murmuring against your hair, “This is nice.” He nuzzles his face into you and breathes in your scent.
You smile to yourself, because you agree, it is nice. And in his groggy state, he reaches around you and begins drawing small patterns on your back, soothing you.
Cuddling with him like this allows you to feel all your stress drifting away and you relax, melting into him. You gently wrap both of your ankles around one of his and he smiles into your hair.
He squeezes you tightly around your waist and you can feel your body growing heavy as you drift off into a serene and dreamless sleep.
