"Run (name)-chan! Can't you hear me? RUN!!" These were the last words you remembered.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

And the yell. Which you only heard from far away because you were long gone. Everything happened right next to your house. Of course you didn't go home! You didn't even stay no where near. You just ran, and ran, while Kaneki's words were echoing in your head.

You no longer saw any houses anywhere, neither street lamps. When you felt like you'll collapse due to the running, you slowed down. Then you stopped. You flang your heavy bag on the ground and threw yourself on it. You panted weightily. You were viewing the starry sky. The cool air of the night stormily infused your lungs.

Then after a few minutes resting, something came to your mind. So where am I now?

You sighed deeply, then leisurely stood up and panted a few more times. Your eyes eventually got used to the dark, so you saw pretty well. You were in the middle of a cornfield. Under your feet was the grey, dusty ground flattening, where dying flowers were lying trampled, some of them in pieces. You could best compare the dry, spiky corn stalks to stakes. They were standing in hudreds of rows with hundreds of paths between them. Your eyes directed at the distance, where there was nothing in particular apart from bushes and trees and bushes and trees and bushes. You turned around, searching for light, buildings, people. You tried to pull out any details from the background, but everything blurred together in the dark. And since every corn stalk, every path, and every tree looked the same, you had no clue where you came from.

I just start off in a direction and see what happens. You thought. You were slowly stepping backwards, just in case you would see something useful. Suddenly, you got shocked when you felt your back hit something.

It was hard and splintery.

You quickly turned around.

A scarecrow.

You rolled your eyes and sighed in relief. You walked past by it, put your bag on and continued your journey.

Meanwhile you were thinking about Kaneki. I could've helped him. Somehow. But in that moment I was helpless. Where can he be now? And Tsukiyama? What if he already devoured him ages ago, and now he is snarling with satisfaction while he licks the last blood drops off his lips? And Arushi? Did she get home safely? Not to mention my family. Don't worry. Everyone is safe. Yeah...everyone.

You were a little bit delighted when you saw the approaching trees. But you weren't even close to them. To be honest, the walk was getting a bit boring now, not mentioning how much your soles were hurting. So you decided to stop for a minute. You threw your bag on the dry grass and nestled next to it. For a while, you were just looking blankly with tired eyes. You knew that it was the time when you usually go to bed, since you were breathing slower every second and your muscles easing into relaxation.

Near you, about five metres away in the corns was lying a dying ghoul.

I wonder if I got any messages on my phone. You reached into your bag and unzipped a 'secret' pocket where your phone was.

Suddenly, the ghoul's left hand twitched and he started sniffing more and more heatedly.

Twelve messages and nine missed call: Mum, mum, dad, Arushi, mum, Arushi, dad, mum... restricted number. Restricted number? Who the hell? You starred at the screen.

The ghoul's eyes opened then mysteriously got narrow. Then he carefully lifted his head up from the ground and noiselessly looked around.

Could someone have called me from school? Only Arushi and Suzuya knows my phone number. You smiled when you remembered how he got to know your phone number. That little cheeky monkey reached into my bag when I wasn't looking...

The ghoul spotted a sitting figure. She was looking at her phone right at that moment. After, the ghoul laid back powerlessly, then he closed his eyes and very slowly started to roll his body to the right.

You checked your messages too, although all of them said pretty much the same thing. Where are you?! We're worried. Please, answer!

As if something was moving in the background. Right next to your phone. You focused there. Someone was rolling on the ground. And you felt really insecure for some reaosn. You cautiously went closer to the person to see him better.

A human.

His eyes were closed, but then opened for your presence.

Black sclera and red iris.

Hmm......... wait a minute.

...

"AHHHH!!" You screamed in horror. And the ghoul grabbed your foot with his wounded hand. He was murmuring something.

"Let me go! LET ME GO!!!" You commanded fearfully, but he didn't listen to you. In the end, you stepped on his hand with a firm movement and escaped, then grabbed your bag as soon as you could and ran away.
