IMPORTANT UPDATE: Apologies in advance for this shitty fanfiction (my first ever fanfiction this is so have some mercyyy). Looking back at it it's not exactly the bEeeEsT, and my english wasn't great either, but hey, if you're here now then feel free to read it. I hope you'll like at least some parts of it.

In school, you've signed up to be a peer mentor. What does this mean? Well, this means that you will get someone at the same age or younger than you who will need help with something. Your job is to be with and help that student at least twice every week in the second half of tutor time. The place where you go can be anywhere in the school area. It can be a bench or even outside under a tree, as long as it's suitable for a silent conversation. Peer mentoring lasts for 3 weeks. (I had to explain this. Sorry... :p)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This day wasn't different from the others either. You thought. Following your morning routine, you stood in front of the mirror and enhanced your eyelashes, which was almost a bit boring now. Since it was bitter cold outside, of course you put your coat on. The moment you stepped out of the house, your hands stiffened and your legs jolted. Move! You thought in yourself and with a big breath, you started the walk.
On the way to school, your legs were shaking the whole time and they still didn't want to obey you. In front of the entrance of the building was Arushi standing as always, and doing what a best friend like her would do, all she said was "This jelly-like shaking style really suits you." In response, you just squinted sarcastically and took your coat off, while both of you entered.
Your first lesson was science, which was followed by geography. There is no need to go into details about it. Suzuya - as always - was throwing his dissected rubber's pieces all over the classroom during science. Well, geography was just fine, because there are lessons in the world that you actually enjoy, you know. After, you spent the break with Arushi in the library - according to your habits. While she was doing the maths homework - which was given out yesterday, - you were upstairs, reading one of Takatsuki Sen's books. Your friendship was like both of you were living in another world. But it didn't stop you from keeping up a good friendship. After breaktime ended, it was tutor time, which was then followed by lunch. Keeping yourselves  to your routine, you picked a silent table in the canteen, where you could eat in peace while you were talking about stuff and stuff. Oh, and stuff.
"Do you have any idea who you will get as your mentee (the student who needs help)?" Arushi asked.
"Well, I don't even know. Maybe that boy with the blonde hair who has a BMTH bag." you said, while you were unawarely staring at him letting people push in front of him in the queue. He was trembling. You wanted to help, but at the same time, you were afraid of developing a big argument about it. So you just left it, not giving a damn about it. You looked at the clock and quickly packed away, then left the canteen. Double maths?! Oh, God.... I mean... never miiiind...
When the bell went, you were waiting in front of the maths classroom with your classmates, because the teacher still hasn't arrived yet. While you were waiting, the others took their phones out. Some people listened to music, some people were texting, and some people took selfies. But you didn't belong to any of these people, neither Arushi. She was patiently standing by the wall observing the others, and you took a book out from your bag and read. Surprisingly, the class was much quieter than you would've expected it to be. You looked at your watch. Other lessons had already started eight minutes ago. Some of your ill-mannered classmates ventured to go outside, a few of them even walked out on the streets. You were leaning against the wall with your book in your hand for ten minutes now, when a supply teacher had finally arrived. Whe she saw that the class size had drastically decreased, she began to interrogate everyone. In one way or another, she found out where everyone else was. Then of course, she apologized for the late while she opened the door. She said that (teacher's name) had to welcome a new student who will be in your year, that's why she is not here.
Throughout the whole maths lesson, you were whispering with Arushi about the new kid, if s/he is a boy or a girl, what does s/he look like, what's his/her name, etc.
"Wouldn't it be nice to have a new girl in our clique we could hang out with?" Arushi asked.
"Why not. But you know, more people mean more arguments. I couldn't stand that, I'm afraid." You said, half agreeing, half disagreeing.
The class suddenly noticed a knocking sound. You stopped whispering. The door opened. It was a teacher, whos glance examined everyone, then stopped after she found who she was looking for. You.
"Can I have (name)-chan for a moment, please?"
With a pensive face, you stood up from your seat and took your way out.
"Take your stuff with you too. You're not going to come back here." The teacher said. You put your planner and pencil case away, took your bag and off you went.
You just had to follow the teacher. Meanwhile, you were thinking about what you did that you were taken out from class. You didn't remember anything bad that you could've done, and you didn't fail any exams. You didn't have to follow the teacher for long, because she only lead you to a bench at the end of the corridor, where someone was already sitting. His black hair slightly covering his grey eyes, which were like a magnet. When your glances met, the sincerity and the gleam in his eyes caused a twingling feeling in your stomach. The boy looked anxious and scared.
"What's your name?" You asked with a warm tone in your voice.
"K-K...Kaneki Ken." He answered frightenedly, and you saw him heavily gasping for air. You smiled.
"I'm (name). Yoroshiku (nice to meet you)...Kaneki-kun." You said with a couraging, yet mysterious tone, which was followed by a wink and a big, innocent smile. By this, Kaneki opened up a little and flashed a smile too. It was just a small, simple smile, but it was enough to ignite a spark.
A/N: So this is my first x reader story. Ever. It's a bit too detailed, I know, but I hope you liked it.
