Your hands started to tremble. You weren't sure if it was because of Kaneki's presence or jealousy. But you knew one thing for sure. If these two start to talk to each other, you're not going to be the only one in Kaneki's sight.

When Arushi asked the question, Kaneki jumped frightenedly and a barely hearable "s" sound escaped his mouth.

"Y-Yeah." He answered, while he helplessly ran his fingers through his hair.

You were listening to what was happening with only one eye. And anyway, Arushi was sitting right next to you, so you didn't really wanted to get attention to your trembling hands, which - by the way - were shaking like an earthquake with a magnitude of 9.3.

"What's your name?" Arushi asked.

Then your muscles stretched tensely and your eyes widened. You didn't look away from your book, but while you turned the pages, you almost ripped one out.

"K-Kaneki Ken." Kaneki answered half whispering. "A-A...And what"s your name?" He asked your friend.

That's when you had enough. This is the end. Releasing your anger, you stood up loudly from your seat and stormed out from upstairs. Kaneki and Arushi were just staring at the chair left out and the "wind" you left behind. On the last couple of stairs, you slowed down a bit, listening to their reaction. Not even a breath could've been heard. Then after a few seconds of complete silence, they continued their conversation.

"Arushi. It comes from Hindu. It means, 'sun'." Your friend explained it.

"Nice name." Kaneki said. You couldn't listen to it more how bravely they were speaking with each other. Before you left the library, you remembered that you have tutor next. Here is your chance to speak with Kaneki about honest thoughts and feelings, but you were kind of angry at him in the same way. The thought made a slight smile on your face and you suddenly felt excited. "Rival... in sight."

The bell went soon after you took your seat in the classroom. The first half of the lesson went fairly fast. Of course your palms were sweating and your legs were either trembling or stiffening. And it was all because of him. You looked at the clock in every single minute, waiting for that 25 minutes to pass. Just 5 more minutes. Then just 4, 3. The closer you were to the moment, the faster your heart was pumping. Just two minutes. One. "(Name)-chan. You can leave the classroom now." When the teacher said that, there were butterflies flying in your stomach and the beat of your heart fullfilled your entire body, spreading heat. You silently tucked your chair in, then you took your bag and off you went.

Since Kaneki had tutor in another classroom, you had to get him. You didn't have to go far, he was only two classrooms away. Politely, you knocked on the door, then opened it.

"I came for Kaneki-kun. I'm (Name), his peer mentor."

The teacher nodded kindly, and Kaneki stood up noiselessly from his seat, then took his bag and came out. After both of you walked a little bit away from the classroom, you stopped for a moment.

"And...? Where do you wanna go?" You asked.

Kaneki looked thoughtfully left and right, then back to you.

"Well, you know, I've only been here for two days. I don't know the school as well as you do." He said, while he gently scratched his cheek with his index finger. You were also thinking for a while, but then you had an idea.

"Follow me." You said with a liitle bit of confidence in your voice. While walking next to Kaneki, you tried to unnoticeably narrow down the distance between you. When you saw that it didn't quite work, you gave a huge slap to yourself in your mind.

"Here we are." You said.

You chose the bench next to the sport centre. Back in the days, you always came here with Arushi, when you didn't want anyone to disturb you. This part of the school was always peaceful and silent, because no one was really loitering here. You could only hear the breeze and the cars in the distance.

After you sat down on the bench, you were just enjoying the silence for a while. Then you slowly proceeded to the conversation.

"It's a nice place." Said Kaneki, while he was watching the sprawling white clouds in the distant sky.

"I'm glad you like it." You said, demonstrating that you cared about his opinion. When he glanced back at you, a tickling feeling ran down your spine.

"What do you need help in?" You asked.

"Well, you know, new school, new people. I'm a little bit lost, to be honest." Replied Kaneki with a shy smile.

"I will always be here, when you need me. I would never betray you." You said. But of course, you knew that there was a lot more in these two sentences than he believed. You didn't say more, because you were sure that it would've soonly become a confession, if you don't restrain yourself in time.

"Arigatou (Thank you)." Said Kaneki barely hearably, which was followed by an awkward silence soon after.

Both of you were avoiding eye contact, but after your glances explored every building, every tree, and every piece of grass, your eyes met. Both of your breath stopped for a moment. Your stomach was prickling and your muscles stiffened again. You were on fire of the desire to touch him. Him

"You have so beautiful eyes.~"

When you realised that you actually said this, you immediately stuck your hands on your mouth. Kaneki stood up from the bench. His face drastically changed from kind to extremely terrified. With widely opened eyes and clenched teeth, he was loudly gasping for air.

"This is not true." He said, with a high pitched but hoarse voice, half crying. This was your fault. Damn it! Damn my bloody mouth!
