Chapter 16

Blake's POV

I was walking over towards the bathroom when I overheard my mom and Josh's mom talking. And what I heard shocked the living shit out of me.

"Can you believe we're here again?" My mom chuckles

"I know we haven't been here since Emma was born" Josh's mom sighs

"I know it feels like it was just yesterday. Do you think if everything would've been differently if Blake knew that Emma's his daughter" Mom says

"What?" I ask as I stop beside them

They both turn to look at me and they looks as if they've just seen a ghost. My face heats with anger. How could she not tell me?

"Sweetie" Mom says

"You knew and you didn't tell me?" I ask

'It wasn't my place to tell" She says

"She's my daughter" I say "She's my daughter"

At that exact moment I see Beth come out into the lobby looking around. I walk right over to her and when I'm close she looks straight ahead at me.

"Is it true?" I ask loudly getting people's attention

"What are you talking about?" She asks looking around

"Am I Emma's father' I yell furiously

Everyone gasps and her face goes pale. She looks like a deer caught in headlights, trying to comprehend what just happened. I look straight into her eyes and I have my answer. She looks down for a second before lifting her head back up.

"It's true isn't it?" I scoff

"I tried telling you" She says as a tear falls from her eyes

I shake my head and leave the hospital with my mom calling my name. I run to the car and drive off.

Beth's POV

I let more tears fall as he rushes out of the hospital. Josh comes up beside me and envelopes me in a hug.

"Give him some time. He'll come around" He whispers into my ear

He pulls away and I hesitantly look towards Olivia, who doesn't even look surprised. I sigh and look out the window where I see Blake get into the car. I let more tears slip out as Olivia awkwardly gets up and leaves. I see her try to stop Blake which epically fails.

"Do know where he's going?" Marie asks

"I think he wants to be alone" I say walking back with Aubrey

"Where the hell were you?" Pete asks

"I was...Nevermind" I say going to Aubrey's side

I take her hand as she cries through another contraction. She squeezes so hard on my hand it turns red and her nails dig in. I help her through one of the breathing exercises until the contraction ends.

"Beth please distract me" She begs "Tell me anything to make the pain bearable"

"Ok...Blake knows" I say

"How much does he know?" She asks

"He knows that he's Emma's father" I say "He ran out before I could tell him anything else"

Aubrey's about to say something when there's a knock on the door. The nurse comes in and announces that she's checking to see if Aubrey has dilated any more.

"Ok you're at nine centimeters, You only have one more to go until you can push" She says

Aubrey looks relieved and scared at the same time. She squeezes my hand and then screams, The nurses rush over to her and try to calm her down due to the amount of stress she's putting on the baby.
