Chapter 11

Today's Ashley's surprise bridal shower. I'm currently running around and doing some last minute decorating. I groan as I realize that I forgot to get balloons. I text Aaron and ask him to drop off a pack of white and black balloons and thankfully he complies. I tape streamers around the room as well as putting table covers around the apartment. After I check the time I go to my room and start getting ready for the party.

I go to my closet and pick out a white dress with a flowy skirt and a nude crochet halter top.

I pick out some nude pumps and a silver bracelet before sitting down at my desk. I move my makeup mirror in front of my face and create a natural, soft smokey eye. As I finish my makeup I let my curling iron heat up. I curl my hair into soft waves and lightly shake them out to make them look more natural.

Emma runs into my room wearing her nightgown and hugs me.

"Hi mommy!" She giggles

"Hi princess" I smile "You ready to get dressed?"

"Yes!" She squeals running off to her room

I follow her and go to her closet while she waits on her bed. I decide on a baby pink floral dress with some matching shoes.

I brush out the knots in her hair and braid two pieces from the front and pin them to the back of her hair before putting a white bow to hide the pins.

By the time I finish getting her ready Aaron walks in with balloons.

"Thank you" I smile hugging him

"No problem" He shrugs "So is this party just for girls or what?"

"It's for us girls" I state

"So it's a bachelorette party?"

"No that party is a few days before the wedding" I inform him

"Ohh" He drags out

I laugh and push him out the door. Emma giggles at his protests while I close the door. I turn around and open the packs of balloons and start blowing them up. I scatter them throughout the house just as guests start to arrive.

"Hey" Tina says as she and Watson walks in

Watson and Emma runs off to her room to go play. Aubrey walks in next with a present in hand.

"It's not much but it's something small" She says sitting it down on the table

Emily comes in with a dish of pasta salad and sits it down in the kitchen. Mia comes in with her niece Mya. I introduce Mya to Emma and all the kids group together in Emma's room to play with some toys. Marie comes in next and makes sure she greets Emma and I before mingling. Ashley's mom Debra comes in with a gift for Ash and sits it on a table.

After about 15 minutes later my apartment is full of Ashley's friends and family that are girls. I text Olivia and tell her to bring Ashley over.

Yes I did say text. I have to deal with her over the summer so I should at least be nice to her.

"Ok everyone" I announce "Ashley should be here soon. We need to figure out a game plan"

"How about we all hide in the hallway" Aubrey suggests

"She'll see us" Tina sighs "Maybe hide in the kitchen?"

"I'm not going to get back up once I sit on the floor" Aubrey says pointing at her stomach

"How about we all go in Beth's room?" Emily suggests

"Yeah!" Mia says "Beth can stay out here and act like there's something wrong and we can comes up with a word to signal us to come out"

"That's actually a very good plan!" Marie says

"How about maybe?" Debra asks

"Maybe? Why?" I ask

"She'll ask you what's wrong and then you'll say yes and her being her she always ask if you're sure so then you'll say maybe and we'll all come out" Debra says "I know my daughter she has a heart of gold"

"Ok then" I nod "Everyone to my room"

I sit down on my couch and wait for a text from Olivia saying they are in the elevator. Once I get the text I sit up and slightly slouch in my spot, waiting for them to come in. I hear a pair of voices outside before Ashley and Olivia burges in.

"Olivia told me something's wrong. What happened?" Ashley asks frantically

"I'm fine" I sigh

"Are you sure?" She asks

I smirk knowing what about to happen next.

"Maybe" I smile

"SURPRISE!!" Everyone says coming into the living room

"What's this?" Ashley asks

"A bridal shower" I shrug

I see tears well up in her eyes before she hugs me.

"Thank you" She whispers to me

"You're welcome" I smile

We pull apart and smile at each other before she goes and hugs everyone. I nod at Olivia and she smiles at me. Over the next few hours we all talk, listen to music, and play some games. I get up and go to Emma's room to check on the kids and smile when I find them all watching paw patrol. As I walk back to the living room my phone rings and I go in my room to answer it.

"Hello?" I ask

"Hello is this Bethany Carrington?" A familiar voice asks

"Yes. May I ask who's calling?" I reply

"This is Mr Howard, the principle at Kingston high" He says

"Oh hello" I say

"Hello. So I've been informed that you are studying to be a music teacher correct?" He asks

"Correct" I say confused

"Well our music teacher here just quit because she got a job offer at a private school. Would you like the job?" He says

"I don't have my degree yet" I sigh

"The job is yours as long as you continue to get your degree while you work" He says

"Ok I'd love the job" I laugh "So I start in the beginning of the year?"

"Actually would you start monday? Summer school is about to start and some students are getting the minor credits out of the way for either release time or getting their credits caught up" He says

"Ok I'll see you monday then" I agree

"Great! thank you and see you monday" He says before hanging up

Author's note:

I know a lot of people won't read this but I just want to clear up what happened in the last chapter real quick. A lot of people are asking if Blake doesn't love Olivia then why is he still with her. And the answer is that it's not that he doesn't love her because he does, he just doesn't see them being together for the rest of their lives.

On that note, this chapter is more of a filler than anything else.
