Ch.17 Another escape

Outside the 'Wonder diner' Elena and Olivia sat down on the bench where they admired their new necklaces.

"It was really nice for Mira to give us these" Olivia said with a smile "Now I have something that reminds me of my mother."

"Yeah" Elena agreed with a small smile "Apparently Gold gave Mira this necklace back when they were friends at Ever After."

"Oh yeah she told me that, I can see how they were friends, back when Mira used to be evil and all."

"Actually, they became friends Freshman year when Mira didn't want to become the Evil Queen, and Gold used to support her. But then one day they just drifted apart and she doesn't know why."

"Yeah I kinda wanna know what happened. I mean, they must of been good friends when he gave her that necklace."

"They were, but Mira said that Gold was the one who stopped talking to her, and she still has no idea why."

"Huh, I guess that will remain a mystery then."

"Elena!" they suddenly heard someone call "Olivia!"

They turned and saw Rachel coming to them along with Jackson who was carrying a leather briefcase.

"Rachel" Elena said surprised as they stood up "Where have you been?"

"I went to my old school in the Monster World to get this guy" Rachel said as she pointed to Jackson "Meet Jackson Jekyll."

"Jekyll?" Olivia said surprised.

"As in the son of Dr. Jekyll" Rachel smirked as Elena and Olivia gasped.

"Hi" Jackson said awkwardly.

"Oh my God" Elena said surprised "I never knew Dr. Jekyll had a son."

"Well he does" Rachel said as she turned to Jackson "And thanks to him, he brought some of the equipment from his father's lab to help him recreate the serum."

"Yep" Jackson said as he held up the briefcase "Everything he needs is right in here."

"Excellent" Elena smiled "Uh your father is at the science lab in our school right now, we'll take you to him."

But before they could head off, Mira, Terrence, and Darling came out from the diner and spotted Jackson and Rachel.

"Rachel" Mira said surprised as they went up to her "Where did you go?"

"Oh I went to my old school to get him" Rachel pointed to Jackson "This is Jackson Jekyll, Dr. Jekyll's son."

"Dr. Jekyll has a son?" Terrence said surprised.

"Indeed he does" Rachel smirked "And he brought the equipment from his father's lab to help him recreate the serum."

"Well that's great" Mira smiled at Jackson "And uh, Jackson, did Cupid tell you about what's going on?"

"Yeah" he said "She told me that the Evil Queen is back and my father is trying to find a way to stop her."

"Correct, and just to let you know, the Evil Queen is basically my evil clone."

"Wait, you're the Evil Queen? I thought you was grown up."

"Well to make a long story short, I'm a younger duplicate of the real Evil Queen who's still in mirror prison and now my evil self is on the loose."

"Uh... okay?" he said confused.

"I know it's confusing, but the main thing is, are you sure you brought everything for your father to use to recreate the serum?"

"I'm positive, he should be able to do it."

"Okay great."

"Hey quick question" Darling suddenly said to Jackson "Since you're the son of Dr. Jekyll, does that mean you can change into a bad side of you just like your father?"

"Well" Jackson sighed "Yes, but my other side is not exactly bad, he's more annoying. He goes by Holt Hyde."

"Hyde" Olivia's eyes widen.

"Yep, he's Mr. Hyde's son, but again, he's not evil like his father."

"And you know that your father separated himself from Hyde right?" Mira asked.

"Yeah Cupid told me, I still can't believe my father actually finished the serum, I thought he wasn't gonna make it."

"Well he did, and thanks to him, my evil self is out."

"Well don't worry, once my father recreates the serum, he should be able to find a way to stop her."

"I hope so" Mira sighed.

"Alright then" Elena said "I think we should all get going to Dr. Jekyll, the sooner we get this serum done the sooner we can get rid of the Evil Queen."

"Right" everyone agreed.

"You know Dex-" Darling said while examining Jackson "You and Jackson kinda look alike."

"We do not" Terrence and Jackson said at the same time.

"Okay..." Elena said with a bit of a confused look "Let's just go now."

Inside the asylum, Mira's evil self joined Mr. Hyde in his cell where she leaned against the wall with her arms crossed.

"You really think Mira is going to go back to the dark side?" Hyde asked her "I mean she's changed a lot."

"I know that" she said "But anyone can change, it just takes time, pretty soon she'll realize what a big mistake she made first by turning good and then trying to get rid of me."

"How long do you think it'll take?"

"Don't tell me to be patient, right now your better half is already working on a way to destroy me."

"How can you be so sure about that?"

"I have ears everywhere, I know when someone is up to something."

"I see what's going on."

"No, I am not asking for your sympathy" she frowned.

"Of course you're not, you're asking for my help."

And with that he held out his wrists to show her the special shackles.

"If you want my help" he said "Then you're gonna have to set me free just like you did with that Wendell guy."

At that point she gave a smirk.

"Well in that case" she said as she used her powers to make the shackles disappear "Better?"

"Much" he said with a sneaky smile.

"Let's take a walk shall we?"

"We shall."

And with that the Evil Queen used her powers to pushed open the door as they stepped out. Now free, Mr. Hyde headed down the hallway with Mira's evil self by his side. Now that he was out, he can finally get what he wants.
