I was sitting in a small, oval-shaped, dirt clearing surrounded by trees. I sat crossed legged, peering through the darkness. Then, I realized that the trees weren't trees, but people. They were in long black cloaks that basically concealed their figures. One in front of me had a purple cloak with some symbol on it, but it was too dark for me to see what it was. Their hoods were up, hiding their faces. I was surprisingly calm. "Uhhhh....what's going on guys?" I asked awkwardly. Suddenly, everyone started whispering. I could only catch bits and pieces. "Her?.......We are doomed........She is only a kid......" They seemed to be only talking about me. I felt insulted. "Enough!!!" Boomed the one in purple. The voice was deep, but belonged to a woman.

I flinched at her loud voice. I became scared, but tried to stay calm. "Can you please tell me what's going on....oh purple one?" I asked, trying to act like I wasn't about to piss my pants. She pulled down her hood and shot out her hands, making me shrink back. Light seemed to pour out of her hands and lit up our little oval. Everyone else pulled down their hoods, showing faces of both men and women. I realized that the symbol on her cloak was a star, surrounded by a circle, the a zig-zag pattern, and then another circle. There seemed to be hundreds of people stretching out behind our little oval. I gulped, but kept my face emotionless. Like I see light pouring from people's hands all the time. I focused on the woman in purple. She had long black hair with bangs and......purple colored eyes? She was beautiful, and seemed to give off an aura of power and age, though she didn't look old.

"My name is Alara, and I am the First Witch," She boomed. "You will not ask questions until I permit you, you will not even speak until I permit you. Is that clear?" She asked. I nodded, eyes wide as saucers. "Good. Now, Katarina, I have summoned you here for a reason. As you have concluded you are a witch. With more powers then most, I might add. We have been waiting for you for a hundred years," She said. I digested this information as calmly as I could, which wasn't very calm. "A hundred years?!?! How did this happen?!?! What's wrong with-" She cut me off, a very angry expression coloring her features. "I did not permit you to speak!!" She yelled. She flicked her hand and my mouth closed. I could not open it. Wow, payback's a bitch, ain't it? "You will learn, child. You will obey. You will full fill the Prophecy!" Everyone exploded into screams and yes's. "You will sacrifice everything and succeed. You will win!" More screams.

I gulped and then suddenly, something changed. I felt power wash over me and I became the powerful witch I was in the hospital room. Strong wind swept through the oval, billowing the cloaks and Alara's hair. I rose into the air, my hair spreading out around me. I felt my irises flicker to black, then white. I don't know how I was aware of this, but I was. I felt power course through me and a smile broke out on my face. I could open my mouth. I was in control now.  Alara and the others all stared up at me in shock. I turned to Alara. "How dare you speak to me this way. You have no right!" I spoke in a voice that I almost didn't recognize as my own. It was loud and powerful. "I will not do your bidding. I will not sacrifice anything!" I clenched my hand into a fist and Alara dropped to her knees, clenching her head in pain. She screamed.

Then I felt my power vanish, as quickly as it came it left. I plummeted to the ground and landed on my back painfully. I groaned and sat up slowly. Alara was on her feet now, stepping to the side to let someone through. A figure in a dark blue cloak stepped forward. Alara bowed gracefully, and so did everyone else. "Hello Katarina," The figure said. It was a deep, man voice, but also familiar. Then it came to me. "You're the one that spoke to me in my mind in the hospital room.....and you pushed me down the hill!" I exclaimed. He chuckled darkly and pulled his hood down. He had black curly hair and black eyes. He was amazing, yet terrifying. He smirked at me. "Don't forget I killed your parents. Oops, you haven't heard about that yet." He laughed. My eyes opened wide. My parents...were dead? I felt tears in my eyes. "You monster!!!!" I screamed running towards him. He put up his hand and suddenly I stopped. I couldn't move towards him. It was like there was a wall there.

He cocked his head to the side, as if listening to something. "Well, it's time to go, but don't worry. I'll visit again." Then he reached out and put his palm on my forehead and I passed out.

I woke up and immediately sat up in bed. I was covered in sweat. Was it just a dream? No it couldn't be, but how else could that have happened? I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. I was in my room. Wait, I thought I was supposed to be in the hospital? I got out of bed and realized I was in some blue sweats. What was going on? I pulled some jeans and a pink t-shirt out of my drawer and went to the bathroom down the hall. It was just a dream, I decided. Just my imagination working overtime. I took a shower, changed, and freshened up. I felt like someone was downstairs. I couldn't shake the feeling off, so I headed downstairs and into the big kitchen. The lights were off, so I fumbled along the wall until I found the switch and flipped it on.

"Surprise!!!" I jumped about a hundred feet in the air and looked at everyone's smiling faces. Brian, Brooke, Autumn, and Taylor were all surrounding the island, smiling at me. "Uhhhh..." I stammered. What was going on? "Welcome home!" They yelled. Wha.....? Brooke stepped forward. "You must be confused, right? Well, the doctor told me you probably wouldn't remember coming home, but you did come home, as you can see. As a matter of fact, you came home yesterday and went straight to bed. I thought you were never going to wake up!" She said rolling her eyes. I was confused. "But Brooke....yesterday I tortured you guys using my powers remember? It got all windy and my irises turned white, and I floated, and I-" She cut me off. "What the hell are you talking about, Katie?" She asked, confused. I saw Autumn go over to a stool in the corner and pick up some papers. She started shuffling through them, scanning them as she went.

"The doctor said there should be no brain damage...." She muttered, still shuffling. I rolled my eyes and resisted the urge to slap my forehead. I know what happened yesterday was real. I also believe now that what happened in my dream wasn't a dream. Maybe the scary guy or Alara summoned my spirit or something like they do in movies. Whatever happened, I knew that my friends would think I was crazy if I tried to convince them and would probably take me back to the hospital, so I decided to keep it to myself. "Oh, yeah, sorry, I was still in my dream," I lied. They seemed to believe me and went back to the enthusiasm they first had when I walked into the room. "We got cake and presents!" Chirped Taylor. "And, best of all, alcohol!" Brian said, a wide grin on his face. "Yeah, don't worry Katie. We will go somewhere and drink it, in case your parents come in," Autumn said, grinning.

My parents....."Where are my mom and dad?" I asked, getting scared. What if what the guy said in my dream was true? What if he killed my parents? "Oh, they're still at that property with the police trying to get things sorted out," Brooke said, getting a piece of cake. "The police?" I inquired. I knew that Jack and Becky were dead, but a part of me still hoped...."Yeah, with the Ronald's dead and everything...." Taylor trailed off, not needing to finish her sentence. My parents were needed there to figure out what to do with the property. I wonder how the police claimed they died. I was so confused with everything going on. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it!" I said racing to the front door. I opened it and came face to face with a uniformed police officer. "Hello officer, is something wrong?" I asked, fear sending a chill down my spine. "Are you Katie Wilson?" He asked politely, although I could see a twinge of something in his eyes.

It looked like remorse, or sympathy. I nodded, unable to speak. I heard my friends enter the room. "I'm very sorry to inform you, but there has been an accident," He said slowly. My heart was beating fast, I could hear my pulse racing. "W-what kind of accident?" I asked, pushing the words through clenched teeth. I was filled with dread. He sighed and took off his hat, bringing it to his chest. "I'm very sorry Mrs. Wilson, but your parents.....are dead."
