Katie's Pov
I woke up in the morning with a massive hangover. I stared at the ceiling and blinked, trying to clear my blurry vision. Brooke was beside me, asleep. I turned my head to the left and saw Taylor and Autumn, also sleeping. I looked at the clock. 10:00 a.m. I sighed and snuggled deeper into my blankets, trying to go back to sleep. I then heard my ringtone 'Bring Me to Life' by Evanescence go off in the other room. Everyone groaned and Brook pushed me off the bed. I landed with a dull thud and I groaned from the minor pain. "Shut it off." Autumn muttered, waving her hand at me. I breathed heavily out and pushed myself to a standing position. I made my way to the door slowly, then got a headrush. "Whoa." I mumbled, clinging to the door knob. When the headrush subsided, I sunk to the floor and crawled into the other room. I reached underneath the table and grabbed my vibrating phone. I pressed talk and put it to my ear. "What?" I mumbled sourly. "Well, good morning to you to, Katie." Brian said, chuckling. "Sorry." I muttered, starting to wake up a little at the sound of his voice. "Would you care to join me for breakfast at the Sunshine Cafe?" He said, making his voice sound sophisticated. I laughed. "Why, that sounds lovely. Can I meet you in an hour?" I said, making a failed attempt at a british accent. He chuckled slightly. "As long as you don't take that horrible british accent with you." He responded.
I could hear the grin in his voice. "Was it really that bad?" I said, feighing hurt. "Yes." He laughed. I agreed to meet him in an hour and hung up. I sat there for a minute, mustering up my strength. When I felt good enough, I sat up and slumped to the other room. I searched around in my suitcase for some Motrone, but didn't find any. I went over to Taylor's suitcase and found some. She always came prepared. I took a pill, then grabbed my clothes, toothbrush, make-up, perfume, deoderant, and hair supplies. Being a girl sucks, doesn't it ladies? I went to the bathroom and took a hot shower. The hot water cleared my head and woke me up. I felt good once I got out and I started getting ready. After my hair was dry, I just stared at it through the mirror. What to do, what to do? I flipped it into a bun, letting to blond strands fall down to frame my face. I curled them and then went back to the other room. The girls were just beginning to wake up. "Rise and shine, girls." I said, then flung the curtains open. They all groaned and covered their faces. They muttered some rude things about me while shuffling out of bed. I rolled my eyes. "I feel like shit." Taylor complained, rubbing her temples. I tossed her the bottle on Motrone and she fumbled for it, but it ended up tumbling to the floor. "Damn it." She muttered, reaching down to grab it. I grabbed my purse and patted my hair, before turning to Brooke.
"I'm going to breakfast with Brian. See you later." I said. She looked at me. "Why don't you just jump his bones already." She mumbled, turning on the tv. I blushed and left, going to the first floor. I arrived at the Sunshine Cafe and met Brian, who was waiting for me the door. He smiled when he saw me. "You look great." He complimented. I blushed and smiled at him. He took me by the hand and we walked through the door. We entered a quaint, little cafe. It was small and square. The walls were painted pink. There were small tables scattered around and there was only a few people there. I saw doors at the back. "Where does that go to?" I asked Brian. "Half of this cafe is outside, so it's up to you where you want us to sit." He replied, smiling at me again. I giggled like a little girl. "Well in that case, let's sit outside." I said, squeezing his shoulder. He nodded and we went outside. It was surprisingly warm and beautiful outside. We sat at a table to the far north, which had a great view looking into the glass windows of the huge mall. Birds chirped everywhere. The waitress came and took our orders. Brian and I talked and laughed like the best friends we are, but I felt my heart grow with new feelings for Brian. I thought about him with stronger feelings than just friends. I was surprised with this sudden relization and I became silent, pondering this. "Katie? You okay?" Brian asked, worry creasing his brow. "Yah. Sorry, I was lost in my thoughts." I said, giving him a reasurring smile. He didn't seem to beileve me. He was about to say something, but the waitress came back with our orders.
The waitress was a pretty girl with red hair and green eyes. She flirted with Brian, batting her eyes and saying sweet things to him. She slipped him her number. I became angry. The waitress left, but my anger remained. How dare she flirt with Brian! I sat silently, looking at my clenched fists in my lap. "Katie-" Brian stopped when I lifted my head up. He stared at me with shock written all over his face. "Y-your eyes." He breathed, staring at me intensley. I gasped, realizing my eyes must be red with anger from the waitress flirting with him. He stared at me in silence for what seemed like forever. Finally, his face went blank with no emotion. He was silent for another minute, then spoke. "What are you?"
