I woke up later feeling much better. For a few moments, I just stared at the ceiling. I was more confused then I had ever been in my life. I was a witch. Somewhere deep, deep down, I knew the truth. I sighed, fighting down the tears that were threatening to spill over. Jack and Becky....died....for me. A stranger. I knew they were dead. I didn't know how, but I just knew. My hand fumbled beside my bed until I found the remote that controlled the bed. I moved it up until I was in a comfortable sitting position. Brooke was still asleep in the same chair she had been, and Brian was asleep in the chair by my bed.

On the bedside table, I spotted a teddy bear. I picked it up and chucked it at Brooke. It hit her in the face and she woke up with a slight gasp. "Wha......?" She mumbled, rubbing her eyes. Then she saw me awake. "Katie!" She screeched, running to my bed. "Oh my God! Are you okay? Do you remember me? Does your head hurt? Are you tired? Are you-" I cut her off by holding a finger to my lips and gesturing to a sleeping Brian. She nodded mutely and mouthed 'are you okay'? I nodded and gave her a reassuring smile. She was about to mouth something else, but Brian stirred beside me. "Katie?" He muttered, rubbing his eyes and staring at me. I smiled. "That's my name! Don't wear it out." He smiled at my lame attempt to lighten the mood.

"How are you? Do you hurt?" He asked worriedly. "I'm fine," I answered, my voice firm. My body was fine, but my emotions? I wanted to scream. "We should call a nurse, so they know you're awake," He said. He pressed a button on the side of my bed and a few minutes later a plump, fiery haired, female nurse entered my room. "Hello..." She glanced at her clipboard. "Katie. How are you feeling?" She asked, enthusiasm in her voice. "Fine," I said just as cheery. She nodded. "Well, we are going to need to run some more tests and take some blood. Are you feeling up for it?" I nodded mutely. Needles. Oh boy. I was terrified of them. But after what I had gone through recently, I think I could get over it this time.

"Where are my parents?" I asked, suddenly not realizing they were here. I needed to ask them questions about what happened. "Oh, they had to go handle some stuff at a property they have leased a half hour from here. They should be back later," She answered, while getting a whole bunch of equipment ready. I let this information sink in. I couldn't ask my questions until later. That's okay. I could wait. "Are you ready for your shot, dear?" The nurse inquired. I gulped. "Uh...well....didn't you already take blood....you know...while I was asleep," I said, emphasizing that she should have done it while I was asleep. She smiled. "Come on honey, don't you think it's time to get over this fear?" No, no I don't. I was perfectly fine living in fear of them. Brian squeezed my hand. "I'm right here," He whispered in my ear, sending chills through my body. Brooke raised her elegant eyebrows, but said nothing. "Your boyfriend and friend can stay here with you if that makes you feel better," She said. I flinched. "Oh, Brian's not my-" I stopped. What was Brian to me? We obviously weren't just friends, but were we...dating? I looked at Brian, but he didn't meet my eyes.

"Okay, here we go," The nurse said. I was mentally slamming my head against a brick wall. She pulled out the needle. All my muscles tensed up. Then, the lights started flickering on and off. I felt a power rising up inside of me that I had never felt before. I didn't recognize anyone in the room. I yanked my hand away from the stranger that was holding it. I was filled with power. Nothing could stop me. A smile spread across my face. Suddenly, I was lifting off the bed, floating. Strong wind was whipping my hair around my face, throwing equipment around the room.  I turned my head to the right and saw a mirror. The girl staring back at me was powerful, beautiful, and dangerous. A smirk was on her face and her irises were white. The people below me were ducked down on the floor, crawling to the door. With a flick of my hand it slammed shut.

I laughed and the sound echoed around the room. A girl with black hair below was screaming loudly and it annoyed me. I snapped my fingers and her mouth shut. She was struggling to open it, but it was no use. Another woman with red hair was banging on the window that led to the check in desk. With a flick of my hand the curtains shut and became stiff. I was pleased with my progress. Now, where was that other person....Suddenly, someone grabbed my wrist and yanked it. I swiveled my head to the side and saw a blond haired guy pulling at my arm. I was getting ready to send him flying through the wall, but something stopped me. He looked into my eyes and slowly I started to descend back to the bed. The wind ceased, the black haired girl opened her mouth, and the curtains opened. I landed on the bed with a soft thump, my eyes never leaving those of the blond haired man's. He was mesmerising and familiar. Suddenly, a high-pitched whine filled the air and I covered my ears, screaming.

The other people seemed oblivious and crowded around me, trying to calm me down. Then I heard a voice. "Get ready," It said. "I'm coming." Then everything, once again, went black.
