"Hey everyone. I'm home," I said, dropping my stuff on the floor by the door. I looked through the foyer and into the dining room. Mom and Dad were both sitting down staring at me. Uh-oh. "Where have you been?" My mom demanded, anger in her voice. "I told dad I was on my way home," I said in my most non-chalant voice. She glared. "That was an hour ago," Dad accused. I smiled guiltily. On my way home, I had taken a detour over to Brooke's house. She was my other best friend since diapers. Anyways, I had gone up to her room (still in full camo- freaked her mom out) and I had recounted everything that had happened. She was so used to seeing me in camo, she didn't even blink when I came in. She was nice enough to ignore all the beeps her phone made from the texts she got from her admirers while I was telling my story.

Brooke was not a prep if that's what you were thinking. She was a heart-breaker, though. The longest she's ever gone out with a guy is about a month (and that was only because he had a camaro). She has a new boyfriend almost every week now. I think the guy she's with at the moment's name is Caleb. Anyways, she is about regular height with long, black hair. She has baby blue eyes, and according to the men, she is quite the looker. When I told her about the right hook I had given the guy, she fist pumped the air and whoo-hooed. When I told her about Brian, she got a goofy smile on her face. "Oh, I knew one day this would happen. You should totally just go at it with him," She had said.

I glared at her. "What? I heard he was good in the sac," She had said with a big smile on her face. Suddenly, I snapped back to the present. I joined my parents at the table and we ate in silence. It was only when I was cleaning my plate off, that my dad decided to speak. "Did you remember that we are leaving tomorrow to go out to the property?" He asked. I nodded. I had been looking forward to it all week. A few months ago, my parents had leased a property a few hours away from here. It was nothing but woods and an old trailer, but my parents had leased it for hunting. We were going out there for the weekend to fix up the old trailer. We would be staying at my grandma's house that lived twenty minutes away from the property. We were going to leave tomorrow once I got home from school and my parents got off work.

After I had taken my shower and got things ready for tomorrow, I went to the full-length mirror on the back of my door and studied my reflection. I was tall, with electric blue eyes that suited my small nose. My long, blond hair cascaded down my shoulders. When I would ask Brooke why guys didn't go for me the same way they do for her, she would tell me that I was an unknown beauty. She would tell me that I was beautiful, but I didn't just throw myself out there like she did. I wonder what Brian thought about me. With a sigh, I curled up in bed. For some reason an uneasy feeling fell over me like a blanket of dread. I had a feeling the trip this weekend wouldn't be just a getaway. Something was going to go wrong.
