We were sitting in the floor of my living room, staring at the TV. Taylor, Autumn, and I had barely talked to each other since Taylor and Autumn had gotten back. I felt like banging my head against a brick wall. "Maybe someone should turn the TV on," Autumn suggested, glancing at me and Taylor. "Nah, I love this show," Taylor murmured, not breaking her stare from the screen. It was quiet for a moment and then we all burst into belly-clutching laughter. We laughed for some time, even though it wasn't that funny. Suddenly, Autumn's laughter turned into tears of grief. "I miss her so much!" She wailed, flinging her arms around me and Taylor. We joined in on her grieving and had a little girl crying time. After a wile, I sniffed and pulled away from the warm embrace. "Come on, guys. Brooke wouldn't want us to sit around here and cry all the time. Let's do something fun," I said. "Fun?" Taylor and Autumn echoed, seeming as though the word was foreign. "Yes, fun," I answered, streching the word out and nodding my head for emphasis. We all exchanged looks and then simutaneously turned and stared at my Wii. A sly grin spread across Autumn's face. "Shall we?" She said, motioning to the Wii. I nodded, "We shall," And so our Wii fest began. We played Just Dance 3 and some singing games, laughing and cracking jokes like old times, but it was obvious something was missing. Brooke. We tried to act as if everything was normal, but of course it wasn't. After a while, we turned off the Wii and plopped onto the couch. I let out a sigh. "What's the point? Nothing is the same with out her,"

"Yah," Autumn sighed. Suddenly, I turned to my friends, all the questions that had been looming in my mind wanting to come out now. "Hey, what happened to Caleb?" I asked, my brow furrowed. "No one knows. They've filed a missing person's report," Taylor said, shrugging her shoulders. I raised my eyebrows. "Really?" I asked, not concerned at all. What? The guy was a douche. Taylor nodded and I sunk back on the couch cushions, blowing hair out of my face. Another question bubbled to my lips and I sat back up, meeting Taylor and Autumn's amused stares. "What about you and Davy?" I asked Taylor. Taylor shrugged, again, no concern in her voice or eyes. "I dumped him. Just wasn't feeling it," She said, dismissing my oncoming protest with a wave of her hand. I huffed, but didn't say anything. Suddenly, another question needed to be asked, but I couldn't ask my friends. I got up from the couch, walking over to the stool behind it. "What are you doing?" Autumn asked, getting up and walking over to where I was standing. Taylor followed her. "Testing something," I murmured, looking at the feather lying on the stool from my first practice lesson with my grandma. They started to ask more questions, but I shushed them, staring intently at the feathers. I took a deep breath and placed my hand above the feathers, imagining a line of energy flowing from my hand and connecting with a feather like a rope. I slowly moved my hand upwards, and to my amazement, the feather followed. Taylor and Autumn gasped, so did I. "I still have my powers," I whispered, moving the feather to and fro. "Your eyes are white," Autumn stated in the same amazed tone. It seemed impossible, but it was true. I was still a witch.

It was the middle of the night. I knew by my internal clock. Autumn and Taylor were sleeping soundly beside me, hogging my comforter. I wasn't sure what had woken me up. The cold? It was very cold. Much colder than usual. Did Grams turn the AC on? I sighed and decided to roll over and try to attempt falling asleep, but something at the end of the bed caught my eye. It was a shadow, the shape clearly human. My heart began to hammer in my chest and goosebumps spread all over my body. I started to breathe heavy, panic settling in as I watched the shadow shiver. I wanted to wake Taylor and Autumn, but my body was frozen, my voice lost. Snapping myself out of it, I reached a shaky hand over to my bedside table without taking my eyes off the shadow, and flipped on my lamp. I saw the last person I expected to see standing at the edge of my bed. "Hello, Katie. Weren't expecting me?" I gulped, my heartbeat accelerating dangerously high. Finally, I found my voice. "Brooke?"
