Hey :)

Long time, no talk or post... :/ Sorry, about that..... I have decided that I will be posting every Friday. If for some reason it will be a different date, I will let you guys know beforehand ;)

Also in this chapter I realised that instead of leaving you all in the dark when it is in Nikki's P.O.V and people are speaking languages she doesn't know, I decided to put an * before the sentence and at the end of the chapter I'll have the translation there :)

Anyway, back to the story, exciting things heading there way.... eee :) Hope you guys like it :)

Comment your thoughts :)

Chapter 31

Nikki's P.O.V

"I can't believe this is where you picked for us to go!" I exclaim with a wide grin. We arrived earlier in the day but because of some complications with transportation we got here a few hours later than anticipated and now after we have unpacked and are settled, we relax.

He immediately frowns at my comment. "Don't you like it here?" he asks warily. I shake my head but have a faint smile on my face at his genuine concern.

"Are you kidding? I love it here." I motion at the view from our balcony. In front of me I see tall palm trees and the bright orange sun dipping into the calm ocean.

"How did you know that I have always wanted to come to New Caledonia?" I wonder out loud as I lean my folded arms against the balcony rails, overlooking and embracing the breathtaking view. His arms encircle me from behind and he rest his chin on my shoulder. He bends his head and places a small kiss on the side of my neck.

"I do pay attention you know. I remember you telling me ages ago." He states confidently. I turn in his arms and look at him with a puzzled expression.

"I don't remember telling you that." I confess as I think over in my mind of all the times I could've mentioned it.

He looks away with a half guilty half amused expression. When his eyes return to mine, he says, "Okay well I may have looked at that dream book you have."

I open my mouth wide in shock. I swat his arm playfully, "That book is private." I teasingly scowl. Days upon days I would sit and day dream about my fantasies; places I wanted to go, things I wanted to do, cities I wanted to see so I decided instead of keeping them locked up in my mind, I put them onto paper. Everything seems more realistic if it is in ink rather than stuck a prisoner to your imagination.

He shrugs, "*Ho fatto quello che dovevo." He exclaims in his native language. I look at him in awe and in confusion.

"I have no idea what you said but I really couldn't care less 'cause it sounded so cool." He chuckles at my comment then slowly pulls me inside the private villa he had booked.

"Come on, we have a long day tomorrow and it's getting late now." I pout at his comment.

"But I am not tired. Let's stay up a bit longer." I beg like a small child being told that it is their bed time.

He huffs out a breath of air and gives in to my request. "YAY!" I squeal before going back out onto the balcony and sitting on the outdoor couch this villa has. Demitri plonks himself on the seat next to me and wraps his arm around my shoulders.

"Have you ever been here before?" I ask him as I stare at the now starry night.

"Yea, once actually." He simply answers. I wait in silence for him to elaborate and after a deep breathe from him, he continues. "It was when I was a boy. Before my mother got sick, before I was in this gang business, before, when I was...somewhat innocent." He states while pulling me closer to his side. I listen and ponder his words in my mind. Everything is stacking up one on top of the other and is causing us all stress. That is why this little getaway is good for us both.
