Chapter 20

Demitri’s P.O.V

“What do you mean you’re at a dead end?” I all but yell at my men.

“Well, there were no tyre tracks at the scene and we have no leads with the man at the hospital.”  Sam explains in answer to my shout.

My jaw clenches and unclenches in an attempt to dampen my anger. I breathe in through my nose and shut my eyes to calm myself down.

“Fine, FINE! You all get back to work and when I return, you guys better have made some f*cking progress.” I yell toward all my men in front of me.

They all know I that I am only letting out my anger and that my rant isn’t personal. They all understand where my anger is coming from; the girl I am in love with was kidnapped by some psycho and is still missing.

Soon after I calmed Carlos down, we had gone looking for the girls with my Lamborghini.

Yes my Lamborghini, Carlos had bought a Lamborghini identical to my previous one when I was in hospital as a small gift to me.

Anyway we went searching and we finally found Esme passed out on the pavement a few streets away from the house.

Carlos was instantly infuriated at the sight of a lonely, cold and knocked out Esme on the street as I was angered by the absent site of Nikki. Esme came to soon after and told us about what had happened, or what little she could remember.

Immediately I was angered, I punched the wall in the living room causing a rather large hole.

I reach into my pocket and grab my phone. I ring the number of my brother and wait for him to pick up.

“Any news?” he asks with a glimmer of hope in his voice.

“No.” I angrily answer. I hear Carlos sigh from the other side of the phone. “Listen Carlos, I need you to come to the house.” I request, stopping short of the long shot request.

“Yea no problem, just give me a few mi-“ he begins as I hear here move around on his side.

“No, I need you to come with Esme.” There it is, the question I was dreading to ask comes out. Silence is what I am met with.

“HELL NO! I am not bringing Esme down there Demitri.” I let out a deep breath of frustration.

“Listen Carlos, we only need her to come and to look at some of the pictures of suspects. Carlos this is the only chance we have to finding Nikki. Please.” I plead. Never in my life have I been so desperate.

I am desperate to find her, to bring her back home to me.

I hear Carlos take in a deep breath, “Okay fine, we will be there in five minutes.” He announces before hanging up.

I let out a breath of relief and put my phone back in my pocket.

I walk into my office and shut the door closed. I seat myself down on the chair awaiting by my desk and let out an exasperated puff of air. I lean forward and place my elbows on the desk and hold my head in my hands. I shut my eyes and take in deep breaths to soothe my racing mind.
