Today I am gonna apologize for my dad's behavior towards Tyrece.
I didn't see him this morning and I was kinda glad. I didn't want the bus to try and hit them again. I still can't believe that happened. What possessed him to get so close?
I don't understand things like this. It's not like they are hurting us, so why would we hurt other people. I can't do anything about it.
So right now I am on the bus waiting for it to start heading out. When it finally did I was getting impatient. That is when I saw him.
Tyrece and his brothers walking on the side of the road. Do they like to walk? I mean it's good to the muscles my teacher said once or twice.
I realized the bus seemed to be getting closer like the other day. Oh no! They could get really hurt this time. These road were lined with rocks so they would most likely hurt themselves near here.
I jumped up from my seat and told the bus driver to stop.
"Sit down, girl!" He hissed without looking at me.
"Stop! You might hurt them!" I stood yelling at him.
At that he just stopped the bus and yelled at me.
"Get off my bus now!"
The whole bus got silent instantly.
"W-what?" I whispered.
"I said get off now." He repeated authoritively.
"Ok." I said gaining my wits.
I walked off the bus and to where the guys were standing staring at me. They looked shocked and confused. When I crossed to them the bus left me.
"Hey, what happened?" Said Tyrece softly.
"He kicked me off the bus because I told him not to get so close to you."
"Oh so it's all our-" the twins began, but I cut them off.
"No, it isn't. I rather be kicked off the bus then let him hurt you guys." I smiled at them softly.
After yesterday we grew close. I know all sorts of things about them and we only met a couple days ago. They know all about me too.
"You are one loyal friend, you know that?" Said Tyrece smiling and coming towards me.
"Y-yeah," I said all of a sudden nervous.
He finally came over and gave me a hug. After a few seconds I returned the gesture. He was so warm, and smelled amazing. I can stay like this all day.
"I may not have known you guys for long, but you treat me better than most of the people I have known for years."
Tyrece didn't respond, he just smiled. I did it back. I have noticed with him I smile more. All I do is think about him and my spirits are lifted. He has a big effect on me.
"You want to come to the hideout again?" He asked with his arms still around me.
"I would love to." I say snuggling deeper into his embrace.
I love being like this with him. I once tried to date a boy from my school, but it didn't feel right. It feels right with Tyrece, though.
"Let's go it looks like it might rain today." He said looking up.
I looked up as well and saw the rain clouds. It was hot today and most likely prone to rain. I nodded and followed him to the hideout. He helped me up. It was kinda weird because I was wearing a dress and he was under me. I climbed as fast as I could to the top to make this go as fast as possible.
"That was a little... how do I put this?"
"Let's just not talk about that awkward situation." I said getting redder by the second.
"So what do you want to do today?"
"I don't know, what do you wanna do today?" I asked sitting down.
He shook his head and say next to me. Really close too. I leaned against the wall behind us, putting my head on his shoulder.
"Are your brothers gonna come up?" I asked curious. I thought they were following.
"No, they have chore to do." He said shrugging.
"Do you have chores?"
"No, I did them this morning."
"Oh okay."
We sat there in silence. Then I remember what I wanted to tell him.
"I am sorry for my dad's behavior the other night. I can't believe he grabbed his shotgun!"
"It's okay."
"No it isn't that was uncalled for!"
"Evie, calm down."
I didn't respond, but I just wrapped my arms around him and breathed in his scent.
"Are you okay now?" He said rubbing my back.
At this point I just stopped responding verbally and nodded. I tightened my grip from remembering what my mom said when I had gotten home. How could she even use that word.
"Hey you listening?"
"Huh? Sorry, what did you say?"
"I said the rain is getting pretty bad outside. We might not be able to leave the hideout until it stops."
"Oh. My parents will be mad if I stay out late without them knowing."
"I think that they would rather you be late then out in the rain."
"Yeah, you're right. The water does get high in the road in these parts." I said smiling.
"Why are you smiling like that?"
"Because we are gonna be alone together. That thought alone brightens my rainy afternoon." I said smiling so widely.
"You are weird you know that?" He said chuckling.
"Definitely!"
"I can't with you. We have some blankets and pillows from the last time we slept in here." He said walking over to a shelf, grabbing the stuff and coming back.
"We should try and get some sleep while we are up here because it doesn't sound like this rain is going to let up anytime soon."He reasoned while laying everything out.
"Okay." I replied simply.
When he finished we layed down. I was still a little cold and snuggled up against his back. After a couple of minutes he turned around and wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer. It had gotten dark outside by this time and the storm got stronger.
After a while I closed my eyes and went to sleep feeling happy.
