We shifted back to our human forms. Brian was in pretty bad shape. I ran to him.

“It’s okay, I’m healing.”

I forgot that werewolves healed almost immediately. John and the other guy came up behind us.

“Cherise, are you okay?”

Wait a minute… I know that voice. I looked up and gasped. OH MY GOD!

“Daddy!? You’re a werewolf?”

He laughed. “How else would you be one?”

“So that’s how mum knew?”

“Yeah, when John described the girl he had sensed abilities from, I told him it was you. That’s how he knew where to find you.”

“Your dad is our Beta. It’s good to have both of you in our pack.” John added.

“See, I told you that you were a Thundra in more ways than one.” Brian looked at me smiling with his bruised face.

I rolled my eyes, “All this time and no one bothered to ever tell me that my father was a werewolf?”

“Sorry I never told you, sweet girl.” That’s what he calls me. “The timing was never right.”

“I guess this explains why mum was so calm and collected about the whole situation.” I said pacing around in my confusion. Dad smiled at me.

“What is Hachi dad? Where did you get him?”

“From the pet shop.” Dad had a sense of humour that I loved but I wanted him to be serious.

“Come on daddy, tell me!”

“He came from Atlantis.”

“Dad please be serious!”

He laughed. “I am being serious. He really did come from Atlantis.”

“But didn’t Atlantis sink centuries ago?” And who would have thought it was even real.

“It is real. People just don’t know where to look. And it’s a good thing too, or else Hachi’s kind would be extinct. He comes from a long line of creatures that look like Akitas; they’re called Perrusi and they have always protected the Princess.”

“How could you have known I was the Princess before I ever even shifted?”

“I sensed your abilities from the time you were born. It is not everyday someone whose parents aren’t both werewolves give off such a strong vibe at birth. And even when some werewolf couples have a baby, their powers aren’t sensed until their at least six years old.”

“Wow, and you never thought you should tell me about this?”

“When Hachi showed up on my door step as a puppy. I just knew he came for you.”

I was in total disbelief. Hachi came next to me and licked my fingers. That made me smile. I love him.

“See. You two are quite a pair.”

Brian touched my shoulder. “I should get home. You’re okay, right?”

“Yeah but are you okay?”

“I’m fine. Look, I’m all healed.”

He was kind of limping and holding onto his left arm. It looked really hurt.

“I’m fine, really.”

John took Brian’s left arm and he squinted in pain.

“We need to get this looked at.”

“Dad, I’m fine.”

John looked at him sternly and he nodded in acceptance to his father’s request.

I smiled at them.

“Sweet girl, you should be going home too, I’ll take you”

Back at home. I lied down with Hachi. Mum and Dad were talking about something, and then Dad came by my room to say goodbye.

“Dad, Brian told me about the Knights that I’ll meet… but what about my mate?”

Dad rubbed his temples and sighed, “You have to know a father wouldn’t want to think of his baby getting mated.”

I laughed, “Tell me dad, I need to know.”

He walked into my room sat on the edge of my bed then took a deep breath and exhaled, “Well… you will meet the Knights and form connections with them all, but for you as the Princess, you’ll decide which of the Knights is your true mate, and if you have chosen correctly after all of the Knights have been found, the one you’ve chosen will also gain another tail and you two will become the Ultimate Alpha and Luna.

I nodded then I remembered how Brian was always there for me when I needed him.

“Dad is Brian one of my Knights?”

“Yes, all Knights have special markings when they shift. The more markings, the higher their rank.”

“But Brian has a whole lot of markings… what does that make him?”

Dad chuckled and got up, “He’s a really high ranking Knight sweet girl, but you have to determine if he’s just a Knight or something more.”

He kissed my forehead and then left. I lied back on the bed and hit my forehead. I know I have a strong connection with Brian but is he my true mate? After what I went through with Max I didn’t want to make any rash decisions. I sighed and stared at the ceiling.

Mum knocked at the door then brought me some popcorn and I watched Teen Wolf. Pretty ironic, I mean I am a teen wolf. And I learnt something about being one from watching this. But I was so different from Scott, he was bitten but I was born this way. And when I shift, I look like a normal wolf, just a bit bigger and I have two tails… And they have this wolf man thing going on. Oh well, this IS T.V we’re talking about.

I admired how Scott felt about Allison and thought maybe there is someone out there for me like that. I giggled.

I got an IM from the girls in group conversation, asking if it was ok if we saw the new Transformers. I agreed to that. I was pretty stoked. Maybe I should invite Brian? I wanted to but this is girl’s night out. After Transformers we were hitting up T.G.I’s. I was probably excited enough for everyone. I got up to pick out an outfit.

Hachi was watching me with his head tilted to a side. I guess he was wondering why I acted so crazy all the time, but he wagged his tail happily because I was happy.

He watched me go up and down my closet. I finally pulled out a floral romper, with a halter neck that showed some skin at the back. Not too much. Hmm... And a white blazer, I wondered what shoes I should wear with them. It was a tough call so I called in my mum.

She was smiling at me and in my crazy fashion mode.

“Mummy, I can’t decide which shoes to wear with this.”

“Where are you going?”

“The Olympus and T.G.I’s after, with my girls tomorrow.” I smiled at her.

“Well, why don’t you wear your chestnut wedges, the matching braided belt and the bag with the gold studs?”

“Right, thanks mummy.”

“No problem.”

I put my clothes up on a hanger, and excitedly went back to my laptop to talk to the best friends in the world.
