It’s Sunday night and we’ve arrived in Miami, Florida. I had no idea my father was that well connected. He booked eight tickets first class to Florida and I had a lot of fun ordering whatever I felt like from the menu during the flight; plus the warm pillows to sleep with.

If you’re wondering who the eight tickets were for, it’s because after we had come to the realization that Max had a whole month to go making contact with the other four packs, John, my father and Mark joined together to interrogate a now compliant Max; I mean strap him to a tree and beat the information out of him. Oh what I would give to be able to see that happening! Though, I must admit seeing him brushed up and being agreeable felt just as good… well close enough. Even Melissa seemed happy to have him that way for a change.

There were eight of us who came, my father, Brian, Xavier, Dylan, Seth, Max, Melissa and me. Max revealed that the packs had settled in Coral Gables, Miami; which just happens to where Max chose to go to college, at the University of Miami.

My father arranged a meeting with the Alphas of the packs, Michael Solis, Lorenzo Aquino, Havier Del Monte and Ricardo Davis.

Jose, the Beta of the Del Monte pack was sent to pick us up from the Biltmore Hotel and take us into their woodland territory. The pack house was a huge mansion, almost double the size of the Mitz’s.

We followed Jose into the house and on to the auditorium. The Alpha’s and their Betas were there to meet us, along with all the members of the Del Monte pack. We took our seats and were offered some refreshments. I took a sandwich and some tea while Dylan took the whole tray before the girl could even ask the others. She shook her head at him and went to get more for the others.

“So Parker, what brings you up to Miami?” Havier looks at my father with his brows furrowed.

My look father looks over to me, “My daughter. She’s the princess.

Everyone stops what they’re doing and looks at me. I’m surprised by the bluntness of my father and almost spill my tea.

“The princess?” Havier smiles at me, “So it’s time already.”

My father nods, “We’re here to find the other knights. We’ve already discovered these five.” My father says gesturing to Brian and the others.

Havier looks at Dylan, who’s eating everything he sees with his brow raised and chuckles. He rubs his chin thinking and then sends Jose to get his son.

“My son’s at the library. It’s the semester break but he’s studying medicine so he’s studying for his practical exams which start after the break.”

My father nods to him. “He wants to be a doctor, that’s good.”

“Yes, I’m glad he’s doing something that’s so beneficial; not only to the pack but to human society.” He chuckles, “Can you even imagine a doctor who’s an alpha?”

My father and Havier continue their conversation with the other alphas. I sit next to Brian and he holds my hand.

“Are you okay, Cee?”

“Yeah, I can’t believe we’re finally so close to finally finding the others.”

“I’m glad we are. And that Max seems to be complying.”

“I hope he’s changed.” I look over to him talking with some other pack members with Melissa at his side.

“Me too.”

“At least we don’t have to worry about now.” I smile at Melissa who’s waving to me.

“I’m really glad he’s not your mate. I’d be able to handle anyone else being with you but him.”
