Today is December 28th, the others are arriving today. I can’t wait to have them at home with us; it’ll be really noisy around now but I missed the guys.
Brian and I are waiting in the lobby of the Grantley Adams International Airport, with John and Joan. I have no idea why John came because usually my father is the one who meets people when they arrive. Brian puts his arm around my shoulder and I’m waiting anxiously to see them walk into the lobby, especially Danielle and Dante.
“Ahhh!” I hear Danielle screaming excitedly.
I look around to see her with a huge smile on her face running straight at me. I got up to hug her.
“I missed you Cher! I have so much to tell you, I can’t believe it! I’m finally here in Barbados.” She goes on beaming as she talks up a storm, “Those bitches back home would kill to come here, but here I am living here!”
I laughed, Danielle was clearly happy about being here but yet I’m still worried about the others not wanting to be here.
Gabriel, Dante, Liam, River and Gunnar and Shauna followed smiling my way. It doesn’t look like they’re upset about moving here either. I waved at them as they came up to us.
“Hello everyone, I’m John Thundra.”
They slightly bowed their heads to him in respect and I realized exactly how much power John has in the community. It must come with the territory of being a grandmaster.
“And this is my wife and mate Joan.” John continues, “I hope you’ll enjoy your time here.”
Usually my father is the one who greets people when they come but John was here and I couldn’t quite understand why. I look at John studying him and the situation as Brian holds my arm trying to get me to loosen up.
We walk out to the parking lot and there’s a girl standing next to Brian’s truck with one of her hands on the hood.
“Who are you?” John asks as she walks slowly towards us.
“Kate Rivera.” She says smiling wickedly at John, “We’re coming for her.” She says in her weird accent.
She looks so familiar and I can’t quite put my finger on it but I’ve seen her around before. Her beautiful, long auburn hair came down to her waist and her dark brown eyes look at me intensely. She’s wearing a ton of makeup with a dark lip and smoky eyes.
“Where’s your dog princess?” she says looking at me with a perfect brow raised.
I gasp as I remember her, it’s that girl who ran passed me with that guy with a camera, when I was walking Hachi. I left Hachi with my mother to look after her and Cameron.
“So you remember me then?” she smiles, “I’ve been watching you for a while now princess, we’re here.”
She raises a finger and I feel a push sending me crashing into Dante’s chest. The knights drop their bags and growl at her heaving. Brian is standing in front of her with his hand around her neck.
“How dare you!” John growls at her, “Issuing an attack in broad day light, in an open parking lot? You’ve got some nerve.”
She laughs and raises her hands making Brian fall to ground.
“You’ve been warned.” She vanishes.
Joan runs to Brian checking to see if he was hurt.
“She didn’t hurt me.” He says to her and looks over at me.
I’m frozen in fear and panting rapidly. I can’t catch my breath as Dante holds me up. I must be catching another heart attack.
“Quick let’s get her to the house and let Maree take a look at her.” John orders.
